No, the file size is in the terabytes (if not Petabytes) it has super heavy DRM (the cinemas have to pay upfront for a number of showings usually and when they are done the movie is locked) and the file type is a problem as well.
I miss NX. My company uses SolidWorks, and it’s…okay, I guess? But I’m aggravated on a weekly basis because it doesn’t do something that NX could. But cost is the issue. I think you can get like 5 SW licenses for the cost of a single NX one.
Odd. Things continue to improve, maybe it has gotten better? The majority of issues/glitches ive experienced on Linux while gaming have been glitches present on Windows too. Out of my library, there are no games that are outright unplayable on Linux, and 1 game that I need to host lobbies to play multiplayer. I tend to get better performance on Linux as well.
I recommend for anyone considering Linux for gaming, look at ProtonDB to see if your fav games are playable or require workarounds. I find it rare that I actually need to look anything up.

I switched to Linux on a laptop of mine because an update to windows caused it to not boot.
Now I get to deal with my keyboard backlight not working, sometimes the keyboard freezing on resume, my Bluetooth not connecting on the first try, and my wifi sometimes not working, but it boots fine every time.
Reading “suck it in and smile” in French to try to get some vocab back after letting my French rust in a ditch for a few years. Enjoying reading French and seeing the spellings of words I used regularly.
That said the story is quite underwhelming with some key points that aren’t much of Anything new. Its very short though and easy enough to read despite the language so I’ll finish it up soon and move on to a more interesting story
Honestly I couldn’t give less of a shit of most triple A games or esports games not running on Linux because of EAC. I’ll gladly keep throwing money at indy devs that make games that don’t suck.
I played Fifa on my friend’s Xbox the other day. We had to wait for an active connection before we could play each other. Players were removed from the roster because of updates from the server. Once his game pass was verified, we still had to log out and log in a few times, navigate the strange menu hierarchy to actually play against one another. Same pattern when trying to play NHL, same with Madden.
I remember when you used to buy a sports game, and everything you needed just loaded from the disk. Menus were easy, and you were two clicks away from starting an offline game.

One thing I do miss is the larger modding commuinity. Like R2ModManager works on Linux so a lot of Unity-based games have mod support and it all works with Proton basically out of the box. There is a Linux build for the Satisfactory Mod Manager too which I thought was kind of weird lol.
I switched over my steam and epic games to my Linux install and there’s plenty of games I can’t play because of the anti-cheat or other issues. Can’t install my EA games at all.
Still made the switch and hoping things will catch up as time goes on.
Windows 11? I have Windows 10 in dual but using Linux only, I just don’t want to remove everything even if Windows is shit… I’m only disappointed there’s no Affinity Designer on linux :( I know it’s full of alternatives but I like the UI and I’m used to it
