Ilandar , to android in I just got a device with an audio jack (Moto G84), very satisfying.

I was considering getting a USB-C - jack dongle, but they seemed annoying to carry around, and I wanted to avoid potential damage to the USB-C port by plugging it in and out multiple times per day (USB-C still seems finicky to me for some reason)

Fair enough if you’re concerned about the USB port’s durability, but for casual users like myself that is actually a viable solution. I bought one a few months back and have been surprised at how much less annoying they are to use than I thought they would be. I no longer consider the loss of 3.5 mm a major problem these days. It’s an annoyance I still consider unnecessary, but only a minor one.

morphballganon , to fediverse in What do you want to have in a Lemmy instance?

If there’s a person (or bot) that claims to be unbiased but spams every political post with a biased assertion of the OP’s partiality/impartiality with a huge post that is low effort copy+paste/script-generated, the correct response is to ban that person (or bot).

This is nothing new to online communities, but this instance seems to be struggling with this.

db2 , to nostupidquestions in What is the secret to making LED light bulbs last as long as the package says?

LED bulbs do last, that’s why they’re manufactured to overdrive the elements so they burn out sooner.

Try getting dimmable ones and run them a little lower.

UX has seemingly disappeared across the web unfortunately. Sites just change things for the sake of it.

I’m convinced that almost all of the frustrating shit that corporations dump down on us comes from weekly staff meetings where some suckup climber just wants to tell the boss hey look, we did a shiny new thing! A thing nobody wanted or asked for. Line must go up.

It’s not a link to a sponsor. It’s a YouTube info page about what it means for a video to have the “Contains sponsorship” tag.

Does THIS LINK work you or no?

It’s a little hard to find copies of prep guides for each year since it’s so niche. I had copies over a decade ago but those are probably useless now. In general its really hard to get pirated technical books, I’ve had some luck with Library Genesis, Z Library, Liber3, or project Gutenburg.

An alternative to look at might be doing all of the AP High School and College subjects on KhanAcademy. And practice handwritten essays if you intend to take the optionals.

TBH scoring a 30 or higher on the ACT is a lot easier than scoring high on the SATs. None of the subjects will ask you to solve multivariate differential equations or anything high level like that.
