Currently, mint and debian.

lckdscl , to gaming in what are your favorite pixel games and why?
@lckdscl@whiskers.bim.boats avatar

Pixelated graphics hit the right spot for me. The Binding of Isaac Rebirth, Stardew Valley, Enter the Gungeon, Dwarf Fortress, Dead Cells, Terraria, FTL, some emulated games. I got pretty addicted to Vampire Survivors at one point too.

A bunch (47 containers at present)… Won’t list them here as its kind of redundant with what a lot of other people are running. My latest is Lemmy (lemmy.nine-hells.net).

r4tzt4r , to asklemmy in for the Reddit refugees, do you also feel a bit heartbroken?

A little bit. What I hate is losing the communities related to my hobbies. Reddit is/was very very helpful for me. Finding new music, finding new games, discussing movies and TV, learning about weird movies or cult shows, sharing my stuff to people that find it cool… It was 11 years of that. I needed that site, so many very helpful posts. I hope whatever comes next is better. For now I’m here, waiting to see what happens.

I can’t see all the comments, so this may have been mentioned, but make sure you have a good spot that gets bright sun most of the day. I don’t even bother with herbs indoors because my kitchen faces East and I don’t have a bright enough spot. If you notice your plants starting to look a little “leggy” (sending out long shoots with lots of distance between the leaves) that’s a good sign they are not getting enough light.

There’s been some great advice in this thread. In the future though here’s a shout out for one of my favorite wikis out there, the before I play wiki .

It’s great and has useful tips for all kinds of games. Good luck in Hollownest!

kalipike , to asklemmy in What if Reddit reverts it's changes?

The CEO just tripled down and said they are not changing their intended API pricing regardless of how many subs and users go dark.

Even if they did, I think a lot of redditors have been fed up with some things with Reddit (both the company and the first-party app) for a while.

Of course, there will be people who just don’t care and will continue to go about their redditing as usual, and those who will go back. A fair number of my close friends don’t care at all as they use the first-party app, have no complaints, don’t moderate any subreddits, and don’t follow the Internet news.

I would love to see my primary communities move over to federated social platforms. It reminds me of the Web1.0 and earlier Web2.0 days.

Trust is the hardest thing to reclaim once lost, and this isn’t the first break. Big social is having problems, it’s the natural course of things.

For me, they’d have to

  1. Replace /u/spez
  2. Implement some sort of publicly auditable accountability re: shadowbans and database-level comment editing
  3. Open-source significant parts of their platform.

I have zero expectation that any of these things will happen. The most healthy way forward, for an open and free internet, is the meritocracy of the fediverse.
