I need to get a new pc and am deciding on a mini pc to save space. I want to use it for non-intensive games (indie and possibly switch emulation at highest) and to do light office tasks (browser, obsidian, libreoffice and random hdd file management.)...
A friend of mine was a gamer many years ago but hasn’t been gaming in a while. They run a Mac and I run a PC. What are some good patient games we can play together?
Hello internet users. I have tried gpt4all and like it, but it is very slow on my laptop. I was wondering if anyone here knows of any solutions I could run on my server (debian 12, amd cpu, intel a380 gpu) through a web interface. Has anyone found any good way to do this?
I got a bunch of self-hosted stuff and use a VPS that has a public IPv4 to access my services because my home network has only DS-Lite. My home server ist connected to the VPS using Wireguard....

Debian has less complexityand is very stable. It has a nice wiki and a Debian system can run for a few years on unattended upgrades....
I use Beyond Compare to sync files from my laptop to my NAS which is a QNAP (my laptop is Linux Mint). It is incredibly slow, to the point that it is driving me crazy. Admittedly, I have lots of large files on my laptop that I move around frequently, so that may just be how it is. I do have my laptop setup to sync to my phone...
I use kega fusion on my ubuntu 23.10 to emulate sega’s master system, game gear, genesis and cd. I don’t need to emulate anything else. The problem with fusion is, it stopped being supported in 2009 and while the latest version is stable, there is no sound. Because it’s not supported, I don’t know where to ask for help....
I wanted te host own matrix server, but it’s seems too complicated for the first time hosting. So, what do you recommend?

Hello! Today I learned about the existence of LibreY, and the project seems very interesting. I was wondering, how does it compare with SearXNG? which one is easier to self host, and which one is lighter on resource usage? I’m particolary interested in opinions of people who used both...
It’s the vertical line that blinks in text boxes and documents when you edit. Other than that I don’t know much about it.
I’m running nobara currently as my distro, but these issues persist after trying Pop!_OS and several other distros with help from forums etc. Be it pure WINE, Proton, or Lutris installs across multiple distros and drivers, the game will work perfectly for the first run. Afterwards, the game will immediately crash after...
Hi! I have a NUC with 250GB SSD inside. It’s running everything from pihole through arr apps to 3d printing frontend. Since my family is starting to think “hey that’s a good idea can I use it too”, 250GB is starting to be not enough....
Just curious what an inverted reality of ours would be like, where instead of having too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere creating glasshouse gas effect, what would the inverse be like where we don’t have enough carbon dioxide in our atmosphere? What would the climate of earth be like?
Nostr and Mastodon have both positioned themselves as “twitter alternatives” and both offer some degree of federation. I have done quite a bit of reading and testing with both and am writing this in case you are curious about which one may work best for you....
I don’t mean actively trying to commit suicide or being careless and stupid, you know, just feeling like if I woke up tomorrow and said to me, “Oh hey, like, you died last night” I wouldn’t care....
I am a “messy desk” person and like to have a big open visual space for all the pseudo-temporary files belonging to whatever project I’m working on at a given time. It would be nice to have a workspace specifically dedicated for “work” and still be able to create a fresh one when needed, without having to “put all...
