Anyone have any suggestions for a relatively inexpensive smart watch that can be used with GadgetBridge? I don’t need many features besides push notifications, maybe an alarm etc.
I use an Amazfit GTR 2e, and it works almost perfectly with gadgetbridge. The only difficulty I have is i’m unable to manually update A-GPS data, so getting a GPS lock can take a while. But I don’t use it a lot, and honestly, the Fitbit Versa I came from wasn’t all that much better.
PineTime checks these boxes for under $30. The caveat being that it’s an open source project without fancy features. Also, the heart rate monitor doesn’t work well on my skin, but it works for some people.
I love my PineTime, but I stopped using it because I wanted sleep tracking.
I mean, it looks pretty, but not being able to fold it up really is a non-starter. Like, even if you have a secure charging dock like they claim, if you have to go in somewhere where you don’t have a dock for an extended period of time (like an office) it would be way to easy for someone to pick a lock or just bolt cut it, then walk off with it.
Except you can’t. People can deactivate this for each contact in their address book really easily. You can even create your own for each person and have that override theirs on your own phone.
I used to post almost daily (although i wouldn’t classify much of it as “quality”) for the last few years, and less frequently for about a decade before that. I’ve posted exactly 0 times since the app-pocalypse.
I imagine corporations will see gold as a way of promoting their advertising in a cheap way. What a terrible concept for a platform that was struggling anyway.

Profit
Since now that there is a straight up monetary profit motive, would stealing someone else’s original content actually make the thief open to a civil suit? Does that mean you could subpoena Reddit for the thief’s contact info?
