It's the ONLY company i pay for media. I don't pay for movies and tv shows. It's ridiculous. Like, you need 60 billion streaming services to get the content you want. With music, any given media platform is gonna have the same or similar music libraries. None of this exclusive shit.
Wow, you’re not joking. I just checked OP’s posting history and they’re really going at it. I don’t see double posting to any given community, but they do seem to post the same link to a bunch of related communities.
What’s the point though? There’s no karma here, so I’m really not sure what they’re getting out of it.
In their mind they could be increasing the amount of content on Lemmy, as they feel communities aren’t as full as they could be, which isn’t a bad thing.
The issue Ive seen is when a bot poster adds a ton of links at once around the same types of subject and all you see in the feed is their content.
My partner and I are on the Duo plan because there are only two of us. The price is going from $13 to $15, so it’s not just the family plan that’s getting raised.
Might be the push for me to go to YT music, which I already pay for with YT premium, but I’ve never wanted to use it. But now that Spotify is giving me a reason I might just switch.
Funny you mention that. I just got an email last week that my youtube music price was going up to $16.99/month. I’ve used it since the days of google play, before it joined with youtube and it was like $9.99 (mostly out of a dislike for spotify). But it isn’t the best service tbh, what with low-quality audio and a buggy app interface. So I was finally motivated to make the switch to Tidal this week. Loving it so far… hope they don’t follow suit and up their sub price like the others (knock on wood).
FWIW, the email I got from youtube said something about being able to sign up for a cheaper rate if I nuked my account and made a new one on youtube through a web browser. Not sure why that would make a difference, but I was too over it to even bother.
I am actually debating canceling my yt premium sub over it and im going to twitch turbo, I have been progressively using yt less and less anyway and to be honest, the new price point (which was 13.99 for me) is not worth the benefits it provides. mobile queuing can be used via playlist or watch later, adverts are annoying but avoidable with new found apps approaching. Downloading for offline use is a joke, it barely has ever worked for me. Picture in Picture mode is buggy and for the most part I don’t use it. This combined with the absolute crap recommendation system they have had the last few years(like seriously its all either stuff in my watch history or stuff that is unrelated to anything I watch). I’m sure they are just following every other company but, it might just push me off lol
Also to clarify your nuking account thing. I expect you signed up via either apple subscriptions or google play subs, both of which take a chunk out of the money given. So that might be what is going on with the price diff.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor, which deals with graft allegations against high-level officials, announced that it had arrested and was questioning Ms Dappah for “suspected corruption and corruption-related offences regarding large amounts of money and other valuable items reportedly stolen from her residence”.
I showed this article to a French coworker of mine, and I wish I’d had my camera for the look of sheer disgust on his face at that idea of swimming in the Seine.
From the article, it seems like the largest problem was dumping of wastewater overflow that was beyond processing plants’ capacities. As part of this push to clean up the Seine (as part of a PR for the upcoming Olympics), they’ve built a large reservoir to temporarily store waste water overflow until things level off and the treatment plants can treat the water normally.
It sounds like a great step forwards in infrastructural improvements that will make a huge difference to the ongoing cleanliness of the water. I share many of your feelings, having seen the Seine myself a few years ago, but this article genuinely makes me feel hopeful
