The company will be hoping that by taking the Israeli business back “in house” it can restore its reputation in the Middle East and meet its key sales targets once more.
How is this clearly signalling the they’re against Israel in order to appease the boycotters?
Doesn’t seem to matter who owns them technically, if they’re still McDonalds and still there…
McDonald’s will buy back all of its Israeli restaurants after sales suffered from a boycott of the brand over its perceived support for Israel.
Alonyal, which is led and owned by chief executive Omri Padan, has operated McDonald’s restaurants in Israel for more than 30 years.
The boycott of McDonald’s was sparked after Muslim-majority countries such as Kuwait, Malaysia and Pakistan issued statements distancing themselves from the firm.

Israel’s military says it has pulled out of al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City after a two-week raid that left most of the major medical complex in ruins.
On Sunday evening, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said al-Shifa had become “a terrorist lair” and that more than 200 members of Palestinian armed groups, including senior figures, had been killed, with others surrendering.
That was in marked contrast to their first controversial raid there in November, when it took several weeks for large numbers of tanks and vehicles backed by heavy air strikes to close in on the site.
For supporters of the Israeli military this has been evidence of the gains it has made during the war and its tactical success, launching a surprise attack on the enemy to strike it hard.
They argue that it shows the ease with which Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad fighters were able to regroup after Israel pulled its forces out of northern Gaza and the urgent need to come up with a convincing post-war plan to govern the territory.
A recent UN-backed assessment warned that a famine in Gaza was imminent, prompting the UN’s top court last week to order Israel to enable an immediate “unhindered” flow of aid.

In the documentary 808, the Belgian house producers Soulwax claim to have found the TR-808 drum machine Gaye used to record Sexual Healing with in a studio in Belgium, with the original drum patterns still in its memory.
That was a fascinating documentary. I had no idea they had to stop making 808’s because Roland could no longer source the discarded transistors which gave it’s unique sound. I had a 606 but it was never the same
That’s just a plain wrong assessment of the original German story, that broke a few days ago. Macron, Scholz and Putin (Edit: Putin wasn’t in at that point in late February - at least that’s the original story) wanted to exchange Nawalny for Krasikov, but since his death, the whole thing is basically done, because there is no one else to exchange for Krasikov.
Which is a good thing, just the way it’s harvested is the bad thing. Otherwise they will just figure out how to make it from plastic. Surprised that isn’t already a thing.
