What apps do you personally use on your android box? I use a racked version of spotify for adfree streaming, and stremio with some plugins for all tvshows. I used Kodi in the past but it tended to crap out on the box (its a mibox 4K). I would love to get some more apps for pirating content. Local content is usually a hard find.
Everyone (and their mother) have been trying to convince me that I should use one of my less loaded servers to be a Fediverse node. However, all Fediverse software packages I checked only support being installed on complicated systemd + Docker machines. My servers don’t have either of those, because neither systemd nor Docker...
Because I only use web, on mobile and desktop. I can’t live without adblock.
There is an app on android called Video Downloader to pirate videos from websites. Now, it works for almost every website except youtube. The problem with this app is, it has no adblocker and when you visit sites you should not visit without an adblocker, it just rains ads on you. So, is there a website equivalent of this app...
Before the ukraine war, I noticed that a bunch of insults in that game were targetting Russians like saying SUKA BLYAT in a mocking tone....
I originally posted this thread: midwest.social/post/423896 in relation to getting started acquiring content and I just gotta say damn…this software is incredible.
I remember reading a post about someone setting up Jellyfin and some other software and essentially just waiting around a few days after shows come out and they end up being available in their media library. Like, some kind of pirating software that just grabs the right media. Is this a thing or am I misremembering?
Why is it not common UX practice to start ignoring user input prior to rearranging the UI, and only responding to user input once the layout has settled and perhaps after a short delay?...
If it were up to my opinion. the short answer is yes. if the topics/genres that I were interested in, i.e. I searched for, I clicked, gets recommended more....
I have a instance, with one person, which is I alone. I also don’t follow any instances. Thought it might be a good idea to ask people who they follow for a suggestion.
Its not a secret that no ads on lemmy, which makes the process more difficult paying for hosting to keep your instance only, so tell me!...
8 months ago I prepaid an entire year subscription in order to skip the wait list for the Beeper beta testing group....
My mom has a business and mostly uses Windows and Mac OS X; I mentioned Linux because it could help save money....
The alt social media are a good place to run away from algorithms and explicit mass manipulation from other big tech, be more free, independent, and spread ideas, but I also think that the fediverse is being filling with people with radical political ideologies, some kicked out of traditional social platforms for this same...
sigh...
Genuine inquiry . Maybe I am not experienced enough with the various federated platforms but I am an avid user of matrix, and have dabbled in lemmy. From what I have seen is federation is on the path to decentralization but not fully there. It creates fiefdom, little kingdoms . Great yes you may find one that suites you better,...
Didn’t know where to post this, so hopefully this is the right spot. Please boycott Brave. I’ve recently learned that not only is their CEO bad, but their fanbase is toxic, too. I will no longer be using Brave for that reason.
I made switch back to Windows some time ago, but I notice I use open-source programs anyways and I do not enjoy modern video games which is why I think about switching back to Linux. Below is two issues holding me back from switching right away;...
