Help standing up a self-hosted Lemmy instance
I’m trying to stand up a Lemmy instance, and for some reason I’m just not getting it. I’ve got a fair bit of experience in Linux and Docker. NPM is new to me, but doesn’t seem difficult....
Articles on self-hosted servers not propagated?
I set up a self-hosted instance yesterday, so far it runs fine. I can subscribe from there to communities hosted on other instances, I can comment from my instance and the comments show up on other instances....
Question about how web domains work
Hello fellow Lemmings! I hope this is the right place to ask this. I don’t understand how web domains work. Let’s say I want to buy the domain “abcdefghi.net”. I can go to a domain provider like haruba or godaddy and just buy it. but how can they, a private, sell me these domains? I’m not talking about the hosting, but...
Looking for an iOS App
Hi all, looking for an iOS app I can use for Lemmy.world. Mlem is absolutely not the answer, at least not anytime in the near future. Thanks for the help! Any navigation tips for mobile browsing would be much appreciated as well!

Should I host a Lemmy instance on an Oracle Always Free VPS?
I have an Oracle Always Free VPS. 4 ARM Ampere A1 vCPUs, 24GB RAM, 200GB storage. Will this be a good fit as a server for a Lemmy instance? Are there any issues with hosting Lemmy on aarch64?
TV Tuesday?
Are we doing a TV Tuesday? We’ve just finished watching Annika. It was sort of refreshing to watch a “murder of the week” style show again. The best part of the show was obviously Nicola Walker, but also and Silvie Furneaux as her daughter Morgan. As a listener to the Doctor Who audios, Nicola’s scenes and obvious...

I mainly use imgur to upload screenshots using sharex, would appreciate being pointed in the direction of any alternative.
Has anyone tried squabbles.io yet? It might be my favorite of the Reddit alternatives so far!
Nothing agains this place, but it is VERY cumbersome to get going. Squabbles seems super responsive and intuitive. I’ll be using both!
Is there a way to make Lemmy stop refreshing feed automatically?
As the title said, I’ going through the feed and new posts are adding pushing what I read down, which is annoying, is there a way to stop this?
Do you think if Lemmy ever grows in the far future, could it suffer the same fate as reddit because of money?
I mean, there are already 3rd party clients and when reddit goes through with their plan a lot of redditors will migrate.
Anyone contributing to Lemmy's code development
