lol first thing I do when getting a computer is wiping the disk and installing Linux.

stolid_agnostic ,

These sorts of moves don’t tend to happen quickly. The board may be a bunch of pearl clutchers but there may also be more to this story.

In any case, reputational damage is fully subjective and they may have to prove that harm occurred or pay out a huge settlement.

lol I was just yesterday saying that I fully expect these to fold and all the content to go back to Netflix where the studios can earn passive income with no more expense than paying their lawyers to write contracts.

stolid_agnostic ,

See 10 years ago it was ALL in Netflix and everyone was happy. Studios got to get passive income and we only needed one service. Then the business bros got greedy and decided they needed more money and exclusivity while spending millions to stand up their own inferior services.

stolid_agnostic ,

Sorry, but I just don’t trust polls anymore. They never really get a representation of the public as a whole and instead end up talking with the only interested parties: bored conservative old people.

stolid_agnostic ,

Nothing says “conservative” more than running away from they consequences of your decisions.

stolid_agnostic ,

This has always surprised me honestly. The global north seems to underestimate just what a huge market that India could be for any product or service based on population size alone.

I was also disappointed in the decision from India to start purchases after the war began, but I suspect that it was more of an economic than a political decision.

stolid_agnostic ,

Based on username I presume you are speaking from experience and didn’t like it. In any case it was more the giving of money to a genocidal maniac that bothered me.

stolid_agnostic ,

This also bothers me.

stolid_agnostic ,

If your goal was only to make a good launcher, it would be easy. If your goal is a lot of DRM shenanigans as if we were still in 1998, it’s really hard.

stolid_agnostic ,

lol you’ll need to point at the right part of a holy book and convince us that the Abrahamic god wants you to have guns.

stolid_agnostic ,

More like stopping that from ever happening again.

stolid_agnostic ,

You deduce that I’m racist based on one single post that indicates that they may want to avoid future attacks from Russia?

stolid_agnostic ,

Asia was never brought up in the conversation. Unsure why you feel the need to misrepresent my words.

stolid_agnostic ,

Those articles are archaic. Very strange to assume that everyone will have seen those and then use them as a vehicle of attack.

stolid_agnostic ,

Never seen it but think it came out in the 90s?

Not sure what you’re trying to say.

stolid_agnostic ,

It’s still unclear what you’re accusing me of.

stolid_agnostic ,

Yes they think that I’m racist but don’t want to say it directly. When I ask why they think that, I’m told that it’s cultural. None of this is very convincing. Honestly wouldn’t it be easier to be direct instead of acting like the bad gf/bf who is mad at you for not divining what they that really wanted for their birthday?

Looking through your 17 day comment history, you do seem to like being confrontational so I’m going to not pay too much attention.

stolid_agnostic ,

Yeah going to go ahead and block you. Your anger has nothing to do with me.

stolid_agnostic ,

lol someone else made a disparaging comment and was voted into oblivion. I never knew but it seems that people really like stuffed crust pizza.

stolid_agnostic ,

When I’ve gone back for a look I’ve found just the opposite. It’s just bots and trolls.

stolid_agnostic ,

16 years and agreed.

stolid_agnostic ,

For me it was a sub I participated in for years whose mod suddenly accused me of advocating for the abuse of children, told me I had mental health issues, and permanently banned and muted me. It was weird and I haven’t been back since.

stolid_agnostic ,

I already had inactive subs removed from me. Not like anyone would ever recreate them. It’s weird.

stolid_agnostic ,

Spez wanted to be Zuck and just like Zuck, he allowed bad people to abuse the site in order to hurt others.

stolid_agnostic ,

I lived in Argentina for five years. I’ve spent much time since then trying to convince people in the US that you have more rights and freedoms in Argentina. This might be changing now.

stolid_agnostic ,

This is the standard political cycle in Argentina, like a giant pendulum. Someone starts screaming about how they will fix everything and gets voted in. Their incompetence makes things worse and the cycle repeats with someone new.

stolid_agnostic ,

I didn’t know that this was a thing and a now horrified.

stolid_agnostic ,

You just reminded me of an art display that went up in a park in Buenos Aires when I lived there. Basically the park is oriented around a fountain with a large circular area of brick around that, then pathways that go to the corners and sides of the square (ie to the sidewalks).

They put up a series of walls in that outer circle that told the story of the Malvinas conflict. What stood out to me was that they referred to the UK not by any name or country reference, they were just called “The Enemy”.

People remember and they don’t forgive.

stolid_agnostic ,

They privatized many of the highways and you have to pass through toll booths every so often as ownership changes. These people provide no service, there are just taking the money. Same with much of the transit—many buses and trains are privately (mafia) owned.

stolid_agnostic ,

This was not really clear in your previous comments where you zoned in on a specific product rather than population growth.

stolid_agnostic ,

The air in Buenos Aires aside, It’s really a very clean country.

stolid_agnostic ,

Fortunately it requires effort to come in here with is a barrier for the casual trolls.

stolid_agnostic ,

You’re not running showers out whatever that needs fresh water and the goal would be to reuse that water over and over. You only need to get the water in there to begin with, then your pumps will move it around.

stolid_agnostic ,

I really don’t see much beyond “it doesn’t look perfect to me so it’s a bad idea and we shouldn’t even try” in your arguments.

stolid_agnostic ,

My take is that this has revealed who amongst us is still ruled by their ape nature and who can notice that it’s weird to do that and try not to. Those who use only the monkey brain will fall into these traps every time. It really goes to show you just how primitive our species still is.

stolid_agnostic ,

Sadly, I am a victim of this same thing. I quite Facebook because family members would bring their friends to attack me on my wall because I happened to post an article they didn’t like. It was constant and daily. I eventually gave up and really don’t ever see those people anymore.

stolid_agnostic ,

I feel that the Elon lovers go through similar when he says something that finally pierces the vail.

stolid_agnostic ,

In my experience and observation, he works best on those who don’t have their own sense of identity because they just picked up whatever mantle was expected of them from society and moved on without a second thought. These people ultimately realize that they and their lives are meaningless and work to fill that void. Someone like Peterson can attempt to fill that empty spot, though ultimately it’ll fail.

stolid_agnostic ,

I actually don’t think that they are particularly stupid. I think that most people can’t overcome the urge to have and keep for themselves. It’s all very much ape behavior and it pervades all the nasty that humans are capable of.

I’m not saying that people or better or worse. I just think that some let the internal animal out and others keep it in the cage. I do, however, believe that everyone should strive for that.

stolid_agnostic ,

He hoped that he would be one of the “good ones” in their eyes. He’s in it for the economic policy more than anything.

stolid_agnostic ,

It’s all about the financial aspect. These people tend to be wealthier and very anti-tax. They hope to be one of the “good ones” that are tokenized in the party.

stolid_agnostic ,

It has and you’re right that some people will take up the cause. Millennials and especially Gen Z really look at the world differently and few will pick up this mantel.

stolid_agnostic ,

And millennials are dinosaurs compared to Gen Z.

stolid_agnostic ,

If Steam can install on it, then it’s done. The distro doesn’t matter in this case. If Steam’ll install, then you’re done.

stolid_agnostic ,

lol why are you simping for them? they made a choice not to do this. they could easily do it with their manpower if they didn’t, you know, keep laying people off in order to maximize profits. You’re also overinflating how difficult it is to make games cross-platform compatible with the tools available today.

stolid_agnostic ,

LOL I have no skin in this game. Your comment is pure projection and I think that you have demonstrated precisely what I was arguing.

stolid_agnostic ,

It doesn’t sound like it’s about caring or not. From the article, this situation was put into place originally as a transitional move and was never meant to have lasted for 80 years. Really, it’s just saying that the people in those states have the same rights and responsibilities as any other citizen of India.
