Why is a critical service like disaster precention using an unreliable service like Twitter?

silvercove ,

And this should stop us from talking about this?

silvercove ,

Why did anyone think otherwise?

silvercove ,

Let me summarise your point above: “the yellow people are too stupid to make chips. If the are doing it, they must be stealing from smart Westerners.”

Just how racist are you?

silvercove ,

I don’t understand why local feeds exist at all. Very few instances are topic-based. Most of the time a local feed makes no sense.

silvercove ,

If you sort All by TopDay it’s not too bad.

Developing world needs an alternative to American tech.

silvercove ,

This is the best thing that happened to the world in 300 years. The history of the Western World is one of murder, invasions, genocide and imperialism. Now they are finding it harder and harder to invade and murder us as their industrial base diminishes.

silvercove ,

You’re just mad that you can’t kill our people like you used to.

silvercove ,

I love it when Westerners refuse to discuss their murderous deeds.

Probably because it’s a complicated 3D shape. The 2D projection of the hand on the photo can change a lot depending on the camera angle, position of the hand and what the person is doing.

Also I noticed that AI has difficulty when different features are close to one-another, for example when someone crosses legs or holds and object. Maybe the AI is competent to draw the objects in isolation, but their combination is much more difficult. This is often the case with hands,

Two years after the Fairphone 4 and following the release of some audio products like the Fairbuds XL, the Dutch company is back with a new repairable phone: the Fairphone 5. Ironically, the US government probably managed to break Google’s monopoly on Android by trying to kill Huawei.

silvercove ,

Huawei’s appstore took off in a lot countries. That happened only thanks to the US government.

silvercove ,

I didn’t say toppling Android. Why on earth would that be a good thing? It’s breaking Google’s control over Android, which is great.

silvercove ,

Android is open source. Google does not own it.

silvercove ,

Nothing prevents you or anyone else from forking Android. It is not owned by anyone.

silvercove ,

You have no idea how open source works.

silvercove ,

Nothing prevents anyone from forking it.

Apparently, the reasoning is that instead of telling employees that they didn’t get a raise because of company-wide cuts, try to convince them that they just did a bad job?

This is what you do if you want to encourage attrition.

Give me a breakn The WaPo article is linked above. Also, when it comes to safety, the burden of proof is on those arguing that something is safe.

silvercove ,

There is no doubt that one day these systems will be so good that they will make transportation much safer. But there is no data that shows that we’re already there.

silvercove ,

We’re not talking about ADAS in general, we’re talking about what Tesla is selling.

silvercove ,

Stop talking nonsense. The anecdotes that are piling up clearly indicate there is a problem with Tesla’s autopilot.

silvercove ,

That first link is Tesla advertisement, not independently acquired data. It’s worthless.

silvercove ,

What is the evidence that is it accurate? Is there any reason to trust Tesla’s advertisements?

silvercove ,

You’re the one making unfounded claims. Tesla advertisements are not data.

silvercove ,

Seeing cars pile up on the San Francisco tunnel due to Tesla’s phantom breaking crap is good enough reason.

Yet you have failed to provide a single drop of evidence to support the disinformation you’re spewing.

silvercove ,

Haha, go away troll. Your links are Tesla advertisements, and yes if you break in fast flowing traffic you are at fault and you will cause an accident.
