However if it has something to do with less ease of use for the creators then that’s something that should be worth going through. By giving more value to other platforms then we can assume those platforms will make more and better changes for their influx of users. Similar to how people didn’t want to leave Reddit for Lemmy. There isn’t as much content and the apps and infrastructure aren’t as good. Well, Lemmy development has taken off since the Reddit migration because of the value given to the platform.

Lemuroid is a great open source emulator. Vimm’s Lair is a great place to find games/ROMs. It’s difficult to play games though that require the bumper buttons on a touch screen. Maybe consider getting her a retro gaming handheld device. They can either run based on Linux, so an emulator, or Android which can operate like normal and then you can select an emulator to play. ETA Prime has lots of reviews of these devices.

I use it in some similarities to you such as owning my own OS and supoorting FOSS but as well as not having my OS spy on me. Since I got into the realm of Linux maybe two years ago I have found out about GoG and have been slowly rebuilding my library there and not playing Steam anymore. There are a few games I’ll miss such as Snow Runner but I’ll live. Ultimately I want to own what I have and not be spied upon by so many things now a days.

I totally agree. I do genuinely enjoy NMS too. Plus the procedurally generated appearances also have different stats so you have to be twice as lucky to get what you want.
