I have never seen any source saying China claimed they have produced their own 5nm chip. They just release the laptop and international media claimed the chip was homemade until found otherwise.

Just like the current 7nm chip in some huawei phones and tablet. It was just launched quietly and international media went and advertised it for them.

If you read the current article carefully you will notice it’s arstechnica and the parent article from the financial times making the claim of China having the 5nm chip not “China” itself.

Unfortunately routers with wan speeds above gigabit remain expensive. I would assume that will be the case until faster than gigabit internet reaches mainstream worldwide which will be a very long wait…

I usually check navigation on both google maps & citymapper and follow the one that give the most sane directions.

I think the 8MP ultrawide is probably a deliberate attempt to ensure they don’t cannibalize their higher end phones. The poco x3 that was released 3 years ago had a 13mp ultrawide. Similarly priced phones released later downgraded the ultrawide cam.

I just want to have higher information density in google maps. Having to constantly zoom in to see buildings is a pain.
