Anyone have a favorite iOS app for listening to MP3s of audiobooks?

Mostly what it needs is the ability to save my place when I close the app. Bookmarks would be a bonus but aren't necessary.

@kbsez @andrewconn @hollie @audiobooks I third BookPlayer. It’s the slickest, fanciest app for the purpose out there. Plus, I can just import files from the iOS Files app and that works perfectly.

Book 1: “The Famous Magician” by .

Originally written in 2013, this meta novella asks the author to choose between Magic and Literature. Are the two, in fact, the same? Or is Magic a transcendence of Literature? A quick, fun read that’s sitting with me the more I turn it over in my head.

@ottsatwork @bookstodon I don’t remember it being problematic. Could you please explain why you felt so?

It felt somewhat natural that the character had little memory of their past and so wouldn’t remember their romantic relationships. It does a good enough job of explaining why the usual trope of protagonists falling for each other didn’t happen here.

Not saying the book was particularly good. To me the audiobook trope of the villain’s voice was unfortunate.
