I can't wait to see this! I watched Reading Rainbow as a kid, and then later would watch it as a teen after my high school classes, just to relax and feel good about the world. I know a lot of folks feel lovely and warm about this show, I'm so happy they're doing a documentary on it.

Listening to A Prayer for the Crown-Shy ( versions of both books are wonderful). I just got to the part where Dex and Mosscap are heading to Dex's family's house and Dex is explaining their family, and I'm just melting with happiness at how normalized it all is. No spoilers. Just read it. :)

Humble Bundle has a bundle of books on graphic design and being an artist, 23 books for (min) $25. I just bought the bundle and they look really good, I'm skimming through them now and very happy I got this. Would recommend!

This bundle benefits the Book Industry Charitable Foundation, "dedicated to strengthening the book industry by supporting the people who work in bookstores and comics shops."

It feels like such a Mastodon-specific experience that a bot here has me thinking, "Man, I really ought to read Frog and Toad again, I missed a lot when I was a little kid."

ThriftBooks.com is a great website! I know I've said this before but I want to say it again. I've made many orders, and only today did I get a book that had a few pages missing.

It's late Tuesday night and I wrote them to ask what to do, and they wrote back within an hour and said no worries, they'll send me a new one, free of charge, I don't have to return the old one. Such nice folks!

It's so weird that you can "follow Jane Austen" on Amazon.

I get what it means in reality, but every time I see links like that I imagine what a horror show so many of these long-dead authors would find Amazon.

Our family is talking about what to get each other for the holidays. I'm asking for some favorite books in hardback (I already have a lovely Hobbit but I don't have a copy of Lord of the Rings, that sort of thing). Anyway, I was looking for Jane Austen and I found Alcott's Little Women, which I've never read, that was republished with this cover that very much looks like she wrote a horror novel.

"Are you a little woman? No? Come here, WE CAN TAKE CARE OF THAT." <screams>
