Which are the best SFW extensions for Tachiyomi?

I know this is not a Christian community, but I recently discovered Tachiyomi looking for alternatives to Saikou and a good alternative to read manga (which I don’t do much, but it makes me curious) is Tachiyomi and although installing extensions is really simple the vast majority have NSFW content (or hentai?) and Jesus, I...

Retroarch - cloud sync question

I would like to use texture upscale packs with the steam version of RetroArch on opensuse tumbleweed, but I don’t want them to be uploaded to my steam cloud (I’m using sync thing to manage them). Can I get away with just using a symlink in the appropriate places for each core, or do I need to do some configuring in...

Can’t speak for the others but rocket league in proton has worked well for me. Sadly epic discontinued multiplayer in the native linux build so you HAVE to use proton, which isn’t obvious from the steam page.

neo ,
@neo@lemmy.comfysnug.space avatar

nobody is saying that linux distros that don’t have the gnu core utils needs to be called GNU/Linux

neo ,
@neo@lemmy.comfysnug.space avatar

If it’s usable for the person that wants it then all is well, just don’t make this default pls

OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, one of the default DE’s they offer is KDE.

Flatpak has relatively weak sandboxing, takes up a lot more storage because sometimes dependencies get bundled a few dozen times, and most distressingly depends on the application developer to be available to do things like address supply chain attacks.

Is there a safe way to run multiple desktop environments on Ubuntu 22.04?

I have tried it on several distros before and it always causes problems because you get a million more packages intermingled with your already installed packages and sometimes you get conflicts or whatever. But it usually messes up my system. is there a safe way to have several desktops installed? or do you pretty much install a...

What are your thoughts on fiber through the city?

After 16 years of living in my city, they will finally have city-wide fiber internet. I’m pretty stoked because the fastest internet I could possibly have is a WISP at 50gbps down and 10gbps up. Now I will finally have gigabit but it’s through the city, and I’m wondering if they will be more strict on illegal content...

Disney is gouging customers with a near doubling of subscription costs. (sh.itjust.works)

Disney is raking its customers over the coals with a 75% price hike for their annual subscription (originally $80.) People wonder why piracy is on the rise.Multiple commenters are saying I’m off base about the 75% price increase. My payment less than a year ago was $79.99. Here’s the proof.

neo ,
@neo@lemmy.comfysnug.space avatar

cheers

@neo@lemmy.comfysnug.space avatar

Frugal customers take extra time and sanity to field questions/suggestions, and sometimes, it’s just not worth dealing with.

And if this is a problem for you, maybe you don’t deserve to be in business.

neo ,
@neo@lemmy.comfysnug.space avatar

a raise in price should correspond to an increase in value being provided

neo ,
@neo@lemmy.comfysnug.space avatar

It’s very difficult to make ratio there.

@neo@lemmy.comfysnug.space avatar

Then it’s changed since the last time I was active. Might be worth a second look now.

neo ,
@neo@lemmy.comfysnug.space avatar

yeah, that’s very much different than when I was active.

neo ,
@neo@lemmy.comfysnug.space avatar

isn’t that a solved problem? band does advertising and includes qr codes?

neo ,
@neo@lemmy.comfysnug.space avatar

I think even anti-advertising people wouldn’t be against a band handing stuff out at their shows

outside of that context? yeah, i actually agree with you

neo ,
@neo@lemmy.comfysnug.space avatar

can’t put as many ads on a short list

neo ,
@neo@lemmy.comfysnug.space avatar

Let me guess: Adobe, Microsoft Office, “gaming”, It’s weird/different, I don’t like it.

I am not going to watch this video.

@neo@lemmy.comfysnug.space avatar

Out of this list, Photoshop is really the only main thing blocking people, unless they play anticheat-ridden games the likes of Destiny 2, who are outright linux-hostile.

pretty sure pulsar is a fork of atom, one of the og electron packages

According to Steam's terms and conditions can they remove games from your library and are Steam emulators allowed?

This is in reference to a post titled https://leminal.space/post/1113224. The title is kind of self-explanatory and piracy was brought up in the comments. Someone mentioned GOG and Steam granting users indefinite licenses to users regardless of whether or not the game is still being sold....

neo ,
@neo@lemmy.comfysnug.space avatar

In first world countries, piracy is a service issue. And steam offers regional pricing, but soydevs don’t actually care about not-america/not-eu

.opus for lossy music, .flac for lossless music, .png for image files, .mkv for video

neo ,
@neo@lemmy.comfysnug.space avatar

how did i know it was standards

now, proliferate

neo ,
@neo@lemmy.comfysnug.space avatar

yeah, but guess what opus is transparent at? depending on the music, anywhere from 96kbps to 160kbps.

neo ,
@neo@lemmy.comfysnug.space avatar

opus is higher quality at a much lower bitrate, meaning you can definitely store more songs in the opus format than in 320 mp3. opus can be constant bit rate or variable bit rate, whichever you prefer at encode time

neo ,
@neo@lemmy.comfysnug.space avatar

It is, but it’s not the only thing opus is optimized for

neo ,
@neo@lemmy.comfysnug.space avatar

That would require investment in infrastructure, and our govt would rather get us into another 9 forever wars than do such a thing.
