I see all the stuff about how our parents don't want to hear about their Autistic traits or something, parents who resist their kids' self diagnosis or even official diagnosis - and I'm on the outside looking on that one too, I am the parent and I do bloody not deny it but they deny me.
.
The DEP runs straight through my family and cut me out of it for having been weird all their lives - but now they're in "rebellion," and they're neurodivergent so I have to have been too normal, really that's what my deal must be, the bloody reversals never end.
.
See one's official, so they aren't allowed to have hated me for being weird anymore but they still hate me so now it has to be that they are all different and I've always been normal, and apparently I just didn't know it, apparently I don't exist when they're not there to tell me about it.
.
Frustration is my entire world.

@punishmenthurts @VulcanTourist @actuallyautistic Complete tangent here: You used the term "hatched", which from context seems to refer to your realization/diagnosis as being autistic. Is this correct?

@punishmenthurts @VulcanTourist @actuallyautistic Ah, excellent. The reason I ask is because not only does the weirdness/novelty tickle my brain, but there is a nostalgic association as well.

There used to be a restaurant called SpacePort, a completely science-fiction themed restaurant. From the decor, to the menu items, to the big screen tv showing SF movies like Battle Beyond the Stars. Like any restaurant, they did birthdays, and also like them, they couldn't have the staff sing "Happy Birthday" ( 🤬 copyright laws). So instead they sang their own song to the tune of "Happy Anniversary" called "Happy Hatching Day".

So now I have this desire to see this term catch on in reference to people's realization/diagnosis as , even though I know most won't have the same motivations as me.
