YSK that chiropractors are not medical doctors and "Systematic reviews... have found no evidence that chiropractic manipulation is effective" (en.wikipedia.org)

“Systematic reviews of controlled clinical studies of treatments used by chiropractors have found no evidence that chiropractic manipulation is effective, with the possible exception of treatment for back pain.[8] A 2011 critical evaluation of 45 systematic reviews concluded that the data included in the study “fail[ed] to...

so many things wrong here:

  1. lois armstrong played the trombone
  2. lance armstrong’s real name is buzz aldrin
  3. it was '69, not '98
  4. the moon landing was in no way politicized
  5. i am not using a computer, but a phone
lseif ,

this is a both-sides argument, and therefore wrong.

because i can convey my point in a short phrase, i am therefore the winner.

its not racist. doesnt matter the race, i dont want people standing near me

lseif ,

what do u mean by important? like ‘essential to the system’, or ‘important to consider when choosing a distro’, or what?

lseif ,

i see

lseif ,

it is a dynamically linked library, meaning its not in the compiled binary, but its assumed to already be on the system. as opposed to a statically linked binary. this lowers the file size of the binaries, because most will use the standard library.

edit: this may not be 100% correct, but its the general idea

greentexts typically are written in the second person

depends on the user still

  • useragent switcher
  • custom search engine adders are good if you use multiple search engines
lseif ,

i couldnt figure out how to. i know you can right click the url of a website to add as a search engine, but this only works if the website supports it, and many dont. you can also import/export search engines from a file

lseif ,

i get that, but i dont think you can add new ones in settings. and the settings files are cryptic to me

lseif ,

i cant find where that is? what version of firefox r u on? im on Firefox 119, and its the same on Librewolf. in about:preferences > search

lseif ,

yep thanks :) not all sites support adding as a search engine

lseif ,

ah i see. i did know about it being on mobile. very strange they cant add a simple feature to the desktop version, but im sure theres a reason

lseif ,

why write any joke? why did you write this reply?

lseif ,

what do u use? genuinely asking. i use systemd-boot bc its default for my distro

lseif ,

the 777 stands for ‘lucky jackpot number’, as in ‘youre lucky if you dont break your entire system’

lseif ,

research “diaper inflation” for more

lseif ,

i think its more a critism of using C where it shouldnt, or by people who shouldnt use it. certainly a skill issue, but a lot of people simply will make mistakes, and better to be safe. C of course has its uses though

use after free error (trying to walk with one leg missing)

    sometimes you need an unused variable. some uses in rust:

    <span style="font-style:italic;color:#969896;">// destructuring
    </span><span style="font-weight:bold;color:#a71d5d;">let </span><span style="color:#323232;">(width, _height) </span><span style="font-weight:bold;color:#a71d5d;">= </span><span style="color:#62a35c;">get_dimensions</span><span style="color:#323232;">();
    </span><span style="color:#323232;">
    </span><span style="font-style:italic;color:#969896;">// trait implementations (i couldnt think of a better example for this)
    </span><span style="font-weight:bold;color:#a71d5d;">impl </span><span style="color:#323232;">Into </span><span style="font-weight:bold;color:#a71d5d;">for </span><span style="color:#323232;">AlwaysZero {
    </span><span style="color:#323232;">    </span><span style="font-weight:bold;color:#a71d5d;">fn </span><span style="font-weight:bold;color:#795da3;">into</span><span style="color:#323232;">(_value: </span><span style="font-weight:bold;color:#a71d5d;">Self</span><span style="color:#323232;">) -> {
    </span><span style="color:#323232;">        </span><span style="font-weight:bold;color:#a71d5d;">return </span><span style="color:#0086b3;">0</span><span style="color:#323232;">;
    </span><span style="color:#323232;">    }
    </span><span style="color:#323232;">}
    </span><span style="color:#323232;">
    </span><span style="font-style:italic;color:#969896;">// some types (eg. Result) must be 'used'
    </span><span style="font-style:italic;color:#969896;">// assigned to a variable if we dont care about the return value
    </span><span style="font-weight:bold;color:#a71d5d;">let _ = </span><span style="color:#62a35c;">returns_result</span><span style="color:#323232;">(</span><span style="color:#183691;">"foo"</span><span style="color:#323232;">);
