kvn OP ,

Thanks! Do you mean just use that banner as a line of text? Or is that like a thing that hides the text until it’s selected?

kvn OP ,

I’m on Thunder. But I hopped on the browser to edit my post. I think it’s good now. Thanks!

kvn OP ,

Oh yes I agree. Hot Fuzz is pretty similar in style. Love that one too

kvn OP ,

Right that’s why I asked if anyone had any recommendations. I think it’s pretty unique. Like it’s basically a buddy-cop movie but it’s not like any other buddy-cop movies I’ve seen.

Some of the comedy reminds me of Mel Brooks with the elaborate set ups, absurdist situations, and stuff. But it doesn’t feel like it’s copying anything.

kvn OP ,

Ooo thanks! I haven’t seen this one

kvn OP ,

I’m definitely going to have to watch kiss kiss bang bang

kvn OP ,

Thanks! I don’t know either of these. Added both to my watchlist

kvn OP ,

Thanks for the suggestions! Those all sound worth a watch to me

kvn OP ,

Thanks! Others have said this same thing. I will definitely check it out.

kvn OP ,

So many great lines and subtle jokes throughout this.

spoiler girl at party: "All I told him was that if you want me to do that, the don't eat the asparagus."

kvn OP ,

Right! So many great moments. ::: spoiler spoiler When they are in the middle of a gun fight with the hitman and Healy jumps through the window to get inside the house then March tosses him a gun and it flies right over his head and out the window. :::

For me I feel like reddit began declining when Victoria was fired in 2015.

kvn ,

I feel this way about lady gaga. Not really a fan of her but her voice is excellent

kvn ,

I’m always amazed by Robert Plant when I watch old Zeppelin videos

kvn ,

I’m really liking this one so far. It’s chill and dreamy with a lot of cool electronic stuff going on.

kvn ,

Ooo this is good. Not quite shoegaze but shoegaze adjacent with a sprinkling of punk. Kind of 90s sounding.

kvn ,

I’m enjoying this one. Thanks for posting!

kvn ,

I think i’ve listened to most of these and some of my favorites on this list are Lankum, Wednesday, Young Fathers, and billy woods.

kvn ,

Thanks for posting this! Not a whole lot I’m excited about unfortunately. Hopefully I can come across some hidden gems throughout the week.

I have enjoyed stuff from Current Joys in the past so I was excited for that one but I didn’t really care for the direction of this new album.

kvn ,

I completely agree however it might not be my favorite of theirs. I might like The Lonesome Crowded West even more.

kvn ,

I’m not going to fault anyone for saying that because that is also an excellent album.

kvn ,

Thanks for the heads up on the new album! Her 2020 release Silver Ladders is one of my favorites in the ambient/experimental realm.

kvn ,

This actually sounds really cool. I may look into this later

kvn ,

I like Tanya Tagaq’s album Tongues. Anything else by her or the artists you mentioned above that you’d specifically recommend?

kvn ,

This is a good one. I like Alice Phoebe Lou’s solo stuff too

kvn ,

I’ll listen to the new song later but I just wanted to say that By The Time I Get to Phoenix is an amazing experimental hip hop album and anyone who is into that sort of thing needs to check it out

kvn ,

I was really into their albums Simple Math and Mean Everything to Nothing for a while.

Then they released Cope and it’s companion album Hope which were cool because Cope was their normal sound and Hope was the same songs but acoustic.

I don’t think I’ve listened to them since then so I have some catching up to do!

kvn ,

Basically the front man of Daughters (not to be confused with Daughter. They’re cool) was in an abusive relationship with Lingua Ignota. There’s a first hand account from her on the internet somewhere. The details are quite devastating. Trigger warning to anyone who decides to search for it.

kvn OP ,

I love the positive vibes and the slight silliness of a lot of their songs

kvn ,

Don’t apologize lol it’s a fun song! I saw these guys live in like 2013. It was a fun show.

Also their cover of Daft Punks Get Lucky for Like a Version is really good

link

kvn ,

Really cool album. Definitely wasn’t what I expected when I first heard them

kvn ,

I also really love this album art despite the very off-putting mouth

kvn ,

Oh my. That’s something.

And now I’m reminded of this Amnesia Scanner album art

kvn ,

Their basslines are always so cool. And those strings in this song!

kvn ,

Kevin Morby is one of my favorite singer-songwriters.

Some of his lyrics were inspired by a photograph he found of his dad after a health scare.

Here’s an interesting article about it

kvn ,

I finally got around to listening to this and I definitely agree! Thanks for posting!

kvn ,

I liked this more than I expected to. I think because I was expecting more of a pop sound but it’s actually more vapory than pop if that makes any sense.

kvn ,

I just put it on. Really cool so far

kvn OP ,

Yeah I thought the whole thing was good. The song Daffodil stood out to me most. I dig that sort of experimentation

kvn OP ,

Not yet! I have that one saved so I don’t forget

kvn , (edited )
