The US didn’t propose a ceasefire yet. In response to this ceasefire proposal they’ve said they’re working on a draft for a proposal. With an indeterminate ceasefire of indeterminate length to start at an indeterminate date.

But strangely, once actual dates and times get proposed, they bring out the veto.

One could argue that it sure looks like they’re trying to muddy the waters and give Israel cover.

ira OP ,

I’m guessing Israel wasn’t bombing hostages. Although that guess has been wrong a lot.

“Even if Israeli forces had intended to target legitimate military objectives in the vicinity, these attacks evidently failed to distinguish between military objectives and civilian objects and would therefore be indiscriminate,” Amnesty International said in the report. “Indiscriminate attacks that kill and injure civilians are war crimes.”

The Florida Democratic Party’s executive committee voted to cancel their primary at the end of October 2023 and declare Biden the winner

The Tennessee Democratic Party decided to list only Biden as a ballot option for its primary after a November 11 meeting

The North Carolina Democratic Party acknowledged receiving requests for ballot access from Phillips and other candidates, but chose to only include Biden for its primary

The Democratic Party of Wisconsin left Phillips off the ballot; he appealed to the Wisconsin Supreme Court on January 26, 2024. The court unanimously ruled on February 2 that Phillips should be included on the ballot.

It’s wild watching Democrats doing everything they can to repeat 2016. Now it’s “Bidenomics” says the economy’s great, why won’t you listen to us? Appointing a special counsel that releases a report about illegally storing classified material that says Biden’s too forgetful to have had intent. Instead of collapsing at a 9/11 memorial, Biden’s had 4 major incidents with his memory in the space of a week. Biden’s net favorability of -17 is lower than Hillary hit even after the Comey report. DNC removing candidates from the primary ballot that they’re scared of. Next thing you know, we’re going to find out Biden never stopped in Wisconsin for the 2024 campaign.

Rafah is pretty much the last place for people to go, that’s why 3/4ths of the population is there at this point. There aren’t any “safe zones”.

In each instance, Weiss allegedly fills a shopping cart with hundreds of dollars in merchandise, then scans and pays for a few items to generate a receipt she can show to a store associate as she walks out.

ira ,

And the 2nd Amendment!

ira ,

That’s certainly a strange new precedent. I hope Congress gets to work quickly writing legislation for all the other amendments before a president realizes there aren’t laws spelling out how freedom of speech is defined or how to enforce it, etc. etc.

ira ,

This is the dumbest take I’ve seen yet.

Democrats gave up literally everything before even getting to the negotiating table. They’ve taken the Republicans’ wildest dreams and made it their initial offer. Republicans not accepting it and working them even further past that isn’t some kind of egg on their face moment, let alone a win, let alone, you know, actually helping people in desperate need of it.

It’s wild watching the machinations that liberals go through to be racist while trying to convince people that they’re not. The end result of this is going to be even more draconian than what Democrats are offering, and that’s perfectly OK with many of them.

Factual Reporting: MIXED MBFC Credibility Rating: MEDIUM CREDIBILITY

Overall, we rate The Guardian… Mixed for factual reporting due to numerous failed fact checks over the last five years.

They go on to list 11 failed fact checks.

ira OP ,

The factuality rating is the same as they’ve rated many other sources such as Huffington Post, MSNBC, Salon, Daily Beast, Boing Boing, etc. The ratings are fairly skewed.

Even your rating site says they’ve not failed any fact checks.

Keep it civil please, and engage in good faith.

Al Mayadeen is not Hezbollah funded, no matter how many conspiracies people try to make up.

Should I bring up all the genocide denial in your post history? Claims that “Hamas uses teenage soldiers extensively”? Do you still think most people in the World News community here “seem to not consider Israeli’s as human”?

No matter how many reports you use to try to hide genocide, the truth will still come out.

ira ,

Is this projection? Why hasn’t Cotton denied being a member of the CCP, is there something he’s hiding? He sure claims to know quite a lot about what’s going on behind the scenes in China, maybe somebody should check this out

And Ben-Gvir is still the National Security Minister, completely untouched.

But at least he finally took down his tribute to a mass killer that’s been hanging in his home for decades. Small steps, right? I wonder if he ever gave Rabin’s hood ornament back.

Quite an interesting contrast between how the US dealt with Soleimani vs. Ben-Gvir.

ira ,

Seeing as Ben-Gvir isn’t mentioned at all, I think you already have your answer.

the law doesn’t explain who gets to determine when a country is acting in self-defense

Literally the same exact reasoning Trump used to declare an “emergency” and divert funds to a border wall. Words are meaningless so I can do whatever I want!

Biden’s response to Jordan attack is likely to be powerful, but US is wary of triggering a wider war with Iran, officials say (www.cnn.com)

The US’ response to the drone attack in Jordan that killed and wounded US service members on Sunday is likely to be more powerful than previous American retaliatory strikes in Iraq and Syria, officials told CNN, though the Pentagon and White House are being careful not to telegraph the administration’s plans....

Biden’s doing in 3 years what Trump couldn’t do in 4: start a war with Iran that the military industrial complex has been salivating for

This guy sounds real confused. He looked at bat and dog fetuses and thought that those were lifes? How many “lifes” did he terminate during his practice?

Israeli Tank Attacks U.N. Shelter, Killing 9 and Wounding at Least 75, United Nations Says (www.military.com)

An Israeli tank attack on a United Nations center sheltering thousands of displaced Palestinians has killed at least nine people and wounded 75 others in Gaza’s second largest city, senior U.N. humanitarian officials said Wednesday.

ira ,

It was already a deadly situation. Or are you saying that drowning migrants are more acceptable.

ira ,

Meanwhile on the other side of the coin, people have literally been shot and killed for having an extra item in their bag that they didn’t pay for.

Maybe Musk should work harder on making his own automobiles not the most accident-prone cars on the road.

What does Substack plan to do with the profits that it makes from hosting Nazi content?

I’m looking. Is something supposed to stand out about Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, New Zealand, Sweden, and the UK?
