Instagram reels and youtube shorts is structured in the same way (from what I can see superficially), though I dont use anything but Lemmy/YouTube. Though the common complaint I hear is that the algorithm is significantly worse on alternatives.

Not sure how this meaningfully changes anything other than forcing people to use another app that also violates their privacy.

Israel told them to go to safe spots, such as refugee shelters or the Rafah crossing. The bombed both anyways. Not only does it take significantly more time to evacuate 2 million people, they had no where to evacuate to. This ship and the employers had an option, go through a passageway where they were explicitly warned they would be fired upon or turn back. They chose to ignore explicit orders believing the US had more control and could grant them safe passage. That’s not remotely comparable.

What’s controversial is the depiction of Palestinians as rapists and outlining a systemic, racial, or cultural issue of rape within Arab populations, then pointing to the few instances it does occur as proof for a racist point of view.

Both parties are guilty of rape and sexual assault. None of that is okay. However only one is being racially profiled as having an innate proclivity for rape.

Typically people list reasons why I should vote for X candidate and not why Y candidate is bad.

The US has vetoed both ceasefires. They still haven’t blocked aid in the form of munitions to Israel. They haven’t stopped the Rafah offensive. They pulled funding from UNRWA to shield Israel from the ICJ ruling. I am completely unsure how Trump could be worse on the matter of this genocide. Biden has done everything possible wrong in this situation. That is why I will be abstaining from voting.

This is not a matter of me not voting for the lesser evil. This is me letting the DNC know that I will not be held hostage for a candidate that is marginally better.

I’m not going to hold it against people for voting for damage reduction. Its an understandable position. But I think not voting for a conservative genocide financier is understandable too. If they want my vote they can offer a better candidate next cycle.

I want to point out that ‘Biden isn’t going to change that’ sort of implies he is simply going with the tide. He isn’t. He explicitly bypassed congress by using an executive order on multiple occasions to sell arms to Israel.

The only active genocide occurring is being carried out by the Israeli government. But PLEASE both sides this genocide. For you it is CRUCIAL that you stand up for Israeli interests, for some reason.

How can one take the fact check seriously when this should invalidate any legitimacy the WSJ has? They are not only biased but are purposely questioning the death toll of Gaza since it comes from Hamas medical officials, which has been independently verified for decades. They are intentionally conflating the militant group with the ministry of Gaza in an attempt to dismiss the scale of this atrocity.

Please stop posting media bias fact check and please stop taking them seriously.
