It’s worth it for the capitalist class that is buying the country’s commons at fire sale prices.

That’s the most generous reading. The alternate reading I’ll leave for OP to deduce.

you should join our Instance if you feel your values align with ours.

Nobody knows what your values are, and I very much doubt even you have a coherent manifesto of what they are.

  • We don’t have a desire to be, we’ll, tyrants. People disagree, and we get that. Not everyone thinks the same or believes the same things.
  • We’re just regular people like anybody else and want a place where we can actually be ourselves and not walk on eggshells.

This will devolve into a complete shit show. Please learn about the paradox of tolerance.

That’s not at all what it means in American politics

Two red scares and a cold war created an Orwellian memory hole such that Americans don’t even have the words anymore. It’s double-plus ungood.

Sometimes there’s no European equivalent to American depravity.

In the mid-20th century, America was considered so culturally bankrupt that the CIA thought it should create some.

Yes, we have one party here. But so does America. Except, with typical extravagance, they have two of them. — Julius Nyerere

A KGB spy and a CIA agent meet up in a bar for a friendly drink.

“I have to admit, I’m always so impressed by Soviet propaganda. You really know how to get people worked up,” the CIA agent says.

“Thank you,” the KGB says. “We do our best but truly, it’s nothing compared to American propaganda. Your people believe everything your state media tells them.”

The CIA agent drops his drink in shock and disgust. “Thank you friend, but you must be confused… There’s no propaganda in America.”

I wouldn’t go so far as to say they’re as unhinged, but they’ll blame anyone for their failures—even if they have to invent them—than ever look in the mirror.
