AMD says overclocking blows a hidden fuse on Ryzen Threadripper 7000 to show if you've overclocked the chip, but it doesn't automatically void your CPU's warranty (www.tomshardware.com)

AMD says overclocking blows a hidden fuse on Ryzen Threadripper 7000 to show if you’ve overclocked the chip, but it doesn’t automatically void your CPU’s warranty::AMD explains the hidden fuses behind Ryzen Threadripper 7000 processors and how it will handle warranty claims.

cybervseas ,

the warranty excludes any damage that results from overclocking/overvolting the processor. However, other unrelated issues could still qualify for warranty repair/replacement

So they’ll arbitrarily decide what to cover and always have a reason for denying coverage, got it.

under decks

I bet that’s the name of the Lower Decks R34 community

With so many states cutting off access to abortion, family planning is getting even more difficult.

cybervseas ,

I had to check and yes it is indeed a British game. The humor was a dead giveaway. In fact, this game was DMA Design aka Rockstar North, of Lemmings and Shadow of the Beast fame.

cybervseas ,

Yeah I think the first reaction to this was too hot. The government probably doesn’t want to seize patents and this is really meant as a warning to get pharma to keep drug prices down more reasonable prices.

cybervseas ,

More importantly, where did he come from??

cybervseas ,

They could disable comments on their videos before, too. Now they can pause and unpause comments.

cybervseas ,

Umm that sounds like a good thing? People are being paid better and I don’t feel the weird feeling of tipping before anything has been delivered.

cybervseas ,

If Amnesty International is calling for an investigation, you messed up.

cybervseas ,

Just like every week was infrastructure week.

cybervseas ,

Drugmakers have argued that seizing the patent for a medication makes that treatment vulnerable to competition, which can reduce a company’s revenue and limit how much it can reinvest into drug development.

Or yknow, maybe spend a few billion less on marketing and TV commercials?

cybervseas ,

The captain have them his pips. One for each boy and two to the girl. Iirc.

cybervseas ,

Why is Jeffrey Combs smiling, what does he know?

cybervseas ,

Wait no is that real?! I can’t tell anymore.

cybervseas ,

Something about the pacing and presentation makes it feel like being in a sci Fi movie in a way very few games have done for me.

cybervseas ,

There are scanner drivers that allow units to work with the built in scanner app. My brother printer did that. No special app need for printing or scanning.

cybervseas ,

Yes windows does but I reach for my work Mac when I need to scan because Apple did it much better than Microsoft in this case. It’s much more reliable.

cybervseas ,

Only $100/mo? You’re lucky! My nephews’ tennis and violin lessons are way more than that. Like multiple times more. You must live in a LCOL area.

cybervseas ,

So was Betty White almost as evil as Henry Kissinger?

cybervseas ,

I mean they’re not even bound to tell the truth like the Aes Sedai, who anyway manage to deceive plenty. Plus even if Vulcans had some kind of instinct to only tell the truth, Spock is part human.

cybervseas ,

Sometimes they paint the fruit too 🙂

cybervseas ,

I’m wonder if Colm Meany is done with playing the suffering Irishman though…

cybervseas ,

So umm…why are employers even interested in having employees return to in-person work, again? 🤨

cybervseas ,

Yeah that makes sense. The first point (real estate conglomerates) I get. But like you said, that doesn’t explain why the tenants (employers) are pushing for it. Is it really just the cruelty and waste that’s driving the employers? Also, are companies/managers really like that? That’s awful.

I suppose I’m fortunate we don’t (and won’t) have a mandatory return to office. However, I still like to go in whenever I can because it’s a good walk, our office is beautiful, and our chef makes tasty and healthy lunches. I appreciate that we’re keeping things so flexible. I do have more fun on the days more people come in!

No one said the replicator can perfectly create the most delightful and exquisite flavors and aromas associated with the real thing. Also the bar is like a real bar in a way, you’re not paying for just the food/drink but also the atmosphere.

Also also it’s a Bajoran station, so maybe Quark has to pay an energy bill even for using the drinks replicator.

Also also also Quark makes the point that he had programmed the drinks replicator to be even better than a regular one, so you’re also paying for that.

cybervseas ,

I’m pretty sure that’s the episode where Quark becomes an arms dealer.

Which also has Avery Brooks’s creepiest line in the series; the way he says “Works for me!” gives me chills. Serial killer vibes.

cybervseas ,

Aldebaran Whisky?

cybervseas ,

Well gold is famously nonreactive and doesn’t tarnish. Plus it looks good.

Israeli right-wing militaristic government and Hamas both got to create another generation of Palestinians who will resent Israel and perpetuate the violence. Its exactly what they both needed.

Edit: to be clear, both countries got nothing out of this, and the Israeli and Palestinian people got nothing out of this

cybervseas ,

I really hope you’re right, a lasting peace feels out of reach when the scars of the partition are still fresh. I’m Indian American, and the partition of India in 1947 feels like a similar situation (with less active conflict afaik).

I can only hope that as time passes the generations to come can take more positive action.

cybervseas ,

I never would have realized that was Lilith!

cybervseas ,

Seven and The Doctor both have perfect expressions of concern. Great grab.

cybervseas ,

It would make a great crossover meet cute

cybervseas ,

Maybe the required hardware for IDF to stage the command post is flying at light speed?

cybervseas ,

Even the set designs make it all feel like a stage play. I think that’s why my father still likes TOS episodes so much.

cybervseas ,

I try not to express or show it though. Only good vibes to bring everyone over to Firefox.

cybervseas ,

I mean if a common sense law like that violates the state constitution, it does seems like the problem is in the constitution or how it’s interpreted, not the law…

cybervseas ,

It took a while for the world to turn on South Africa, too. Idk if it will happen here but I hope it does soon and the suffering stops.

cybervseas ,

What the heck how do I not own these already. Who do I give my money to?

cybervseas ,

This is so much better because of the Geordi template.

Season 1 TNG makes everyone feel dirty

It's never been a better time to switch to Firefox (www.androidpolice.com)
