That is a very machivellian attitude. I don’t believe that hurting people who aren’t a threat in the name of “progress” is justified, even if it were somehow a shortcut to utopia, which it’s not.

I didn’t say anything about pacifism, but I also disagree with your proposition equating violence and politics. Violence is a breakdown of politics. Politics, almost definitionally, is how a people settle disputes without violence.

Politics is how how decisions are made in groups. If one person or group is forcing their will upon others, then no decision or compromise between the parties can be said to have been made freely. And therefore it cannot be truthfully described as following a political process.

Bin Laden was “from” within the borders of the Saudi Arabian (Sunni) state but he was a Shiite pan-islamist and a lot of Al Quaeda’s support came from Iran, a major enemy of Saudi Arabia.

This is just to say it’s much more complicated than “Saudis did 9/11”, and maps like this grossly oversimplify things when they put Arab peoples into the types of cultural boxes westerners are used to seeing. It doesn’t apply here.

Torrenting will have everything you want within 48hrs (at the longest) as long as your tastes are relatively current and mainstream. If you are into older or more niche content you’ll still likely need Criterion or Canopy etc.

I’m not sure what you’re asking exactly, but the reason older and niche content is harder/slower to find sometimes is because there are fewer people out there sharing (“seeding”) the files.

If you think Taiwan and Ukraine are “other countries’ wars” I have bad news for you. It’s better to pay as much money as we can now before the payment is made with american lives.

Israel is something else obviously, as was US involvement Iraq and Afghanistan. But the bulk of the money is absolutely worth spending if you value your freedom. It has nothing to do with the housing crisis whatsoever. The US has enough money for both.

This is actually a good sign that Google is taking steps to fix their broken search engine. All it seems to deliver anymore as SEO-optimized crap “blogs” with affiliate links. Linking to Reddit without the user having to include “reddit” in the search is a sign they’re actually trying to deliver good results again.

Still trying to rectify the illegal immigrant thing in my own mind, have to chalk it up to Elon being misinformed about the data I guess, because that made an unfortunate amount of sense.

He was (awkwardly) trying to point out Elon’s hypocrisy. The US has a strong existing structural political bias towards red states, who (on average) get significantly more funding and representation per person than blue states.

If Elon was truly concerned with “unfair allocation of funds” and “unfair representation in congress”, you would expect him to be upset with gerrymandering, the electoral college and other things in addition to undocumented immigration. The fact that he only speaks up when it involved majority nonwhite refugees is telling.

That said, I agree it fell flat. Also letting him claim that the “great replacement theory” is actually just about census-related funding is like saying the civil war was about states’ rights.

I agree with your point about spending, but you have to remember that Bernie technically benefited from the shenanigans the DNC pulled. The people who should be upset are all the more centrist potential candidates who got squeezed out, Bernie’s campaign was able to absorb and represent the entire “never-Clinton” constituency.

I have a feeling Reddit users are much less likely to click an ad than a Facebook, Twitter or Google user.

I have an A300 I was using for gaming (now it’s a home server) and it’s great for both. Very small but can fit a NH-L9a-AM4 or (barely) Big Shuriken 3. It has 2x m.2 and 2x Sata but I wish there were more mini-STX cases out there because it can only fit a 2.5mm drive.

Eh, the *arr apps are more about the freedom to be hands-off. Ideally you will just request something in a frontend like Overseerr from your phone and it will handle the rest. Or automatically grab upon release.
