I’m 62 years old and I just heard about the Hanukkiah for the first time tonight on puppy dog pals. What the heck? How can I live my entire life and never have heard of this. I’ve been around plenty of Jewish people and we talked about Hanukkah plenty of times. I’ve known about the menorah. I’ve known about the dreidel....

My family have always been fairly pedantic about it. Only call it a hanukkiah. It’s a square and rectangles thing, hanukkiahs are menorahs but as a menorah it needs to be able to hold nine candles, with one candle preferably on a higher level than the others to be considered a hanukkiah.

Seriously this was very surprising. I’ve been experimenting with GrayJay since it was announced and I largely think it’s a pretty sweet app. I know there are concerns over how it isn’t “true open source” but it’s a hell of a lot more open than ReVanced. Plus, I like the general design and philosophy of the app....

YouTube gets metrics on which parts of videos are being played. You can see this in the player where it’ll display things like “most played segment” on the timeline.

It’s never that simple. Politicians use it, businesses use it, world news has been made on it. Regardless of whether you use Twitter or not, it has been and is used to sway public opinion. You can NOT use it all you want, but it can still have an effect on your life.

That is, unless you can convince literally everyone else to stop using it.
