I need to get on that. Big FromSoft fan in general but haven’t hit the OG Souls yet.

Safe to assume you’ve hit the other Soulsborne games, and how’s it hold up comparatively?

RinseDrizzle ,

One of the absolute best of all times. Truly a work of art. That remaster is kind a dream.

RinseDrizzle ,

I should dive back in to that one.

RinseDrizzle ,

Pretty enjoyable. I think I need to go back for the finish. Nasty habit of getting 80-90% then wandering off to something new.

But yeah it’s a goofy gameplay loop for sure.

RinseDrizzle ,

Lol I mean, I think down votes are more for tone, but while I’ll love to see this proven wrong I wouldn’t bet on it. Tough sitch.

In short, liability laws are a bastard in a country with no national healthcare rights.

Someone once said oranges are perfect for showers. Nice citrus aroma, no sticky mess from juice spray. I could see it …

Lots of tea lots of soup lots of blankets, you’ll be ok bb

Man, I hate that I need to mask up again. I was diligent about it during early COVID. Still to some degree once vaccines were rolling out. I’ve gotten bad about it lately though.

In my defense I always run hot and I’m an excessive head sweater. Simply masking during a grocery run turns half my face into a sauna and gets me drippy. Masking during a concert or something is so miserable.

Had it back in October but reckon I should get boosted up again and get back to being diligent. Our state is on the uptick in cases lately. :C

RinseDrizzle ,

Oh yeah, my card has been filling up with each new booster dropping. In it for the long haul so fully expect this to be standard procedure for foreseeable future.

RinseDrizzle ,

Sorry to hear about your extra challenges, truly. I absolutely count myself lucky being someone who had a bad time with COVID recovery vs a fight for my life. I’m also a cancer survivor with elderly parents, plenty of friends in similar immunocompromised boats. Would be an absolute tragedy should any of us succumb to this virus.

If I came off as whiney, not the intention. More frustrated with the fact that life as we know it continues to change, with no end to this slow burn pandemic in sight. Have friends in healthcare with no shortage of horror stories. It’s exhausting.

Just airing frustrations, but obviously there’s always someone going through worse.

Okami is a masterpiece, but that into is quite tedious!

People who can don't get mad and just go with the flow, how do you do it?

Here recently it seems like everything just gets under my skin so quickly and easily. It’s not that I get mad and take it out on others, it’s just the fact that I’m constantly annoyed and stressed. Something as simple as the dogs tracking some mud through the house will just ruin my mood. I know some people who would just...

It’s a combination of a few things. I’ve always been fairly chill, and I think these factors help further that zen.

Having a potent sense of humor makes it easy to laugh off anything from mundane to tragic. Always preferred to “laugh, so I don’t cry.” Easily my biggest coping mechanism.

Another good method I heard was this perspective exercise. When something irks you, stop and think “will I still be upset about this a week from now, month from now, year from now?” Usually the answer is no, I’ll have completely forgotten about this mild inconvenience. If it’s something I’ll be upset about a year out, then I’m justified being upset in the moment.

Finally, another tool of perspective is the cosmic absurdity of it all. Here we are, sharing this tiny mossy pebble of a space ship called Earth, in the middle of the goddamn boondocks of outer space. If this entire planet disappeared overnight, the universe at large wouldn’t even notice. For an inconceivable distance in every direction is a cosmic lifeless void. In the absolute grand scheme of things, all these little grievances are so insignificant. It’s insane that any of us are here. We’ll return to infinite nothingness soon enough. Take a deep breath, enjoy the ride while it lasts.

Idk maybe hit a joint once in a while too lol

Minnesotan checking in. Haven’t even used my proper winter jacket once this year. While I do hate living in a winter wonder land, definitely concern for global climate trends moving forward.

Here’s hoping we get our shit together before we go full Mad Max. Not holding my breath tho’.

Quite frequently for sure. I’m a musician in a band, a DJ, and working on becoming more of a producer. Plugging in for amplifying or sampling happens fairly often. Being an audiophile, I’m also partial to wired connections over Bluetooth which can be more unreliable in performance settings. Never wanted to mess with battery powered phones too. Already have charger fatigue pretty bad.

RinseDrizzle ,

Such a fucking shame learning about great music being made by terrible folks. Sooooo many rockers with controversy, be it racism, underage groupie fucking, or otherwise.

Thankfully there’s no shortage of really talented people making awesome music these days. May need to dig around a bit, but my Spotify is an absolute labyrinth of more tunes than I can possibly get through. I’ve had to make annual playlists for every sub genre I’m into just to attempt to keep my archive manageable.

RinseDrizzle ,

What discord alts would you recommend? Genuine question. Bit of a blind spot for me right now.

RinseDrizzle ,

What are people using for gaming/chat other than discord?

RinseDrizzle ,

Go get it. It’s a masterpiece, and prime example of why gaming is my favorite art form to consume. You deserve it.

RinseDrizzle ,

Like others said, Skyrim is awesome. Earlier Elder Scrolls are awesome too, little more hard boiled. Fallout New Vegas is a masterpiece, highly recommend.

RinseDrizzle ,

Was in there way back when it was fresh. Caught a couple extra rare characters too, but got burnt out fairly quickly on the grind.

Still, quite impressive for what is technically a phone game.

RinseDrizzle ,

Now there’s a thought… used to be a beast on Tetris. Played enough I was playing in my dreams. Might have to get back on that train

RinseDrizzle ,

Baldur’s Gate consumed a bunch of my time, but I’ve had on hold for a bit. Got obsessed with Armored Core 6 which has been a ton of fun. Bit biased though, played AC series growing up, big Fromsoft fan in general.

Most recently been hitting that Mario World Wonder on switch for quick casual time kill, then Predecessor on PC for scratching competitive PVP itch. Got so tense playing it the other day I managed to tweak a muscle somehow 😂

RinseDrizzle ,

What are the cool kids using these days?

RinseDrizzle ,

Ripping through my group rn, myself included. This new brew seems to come up quicker, but so far more mild. Here’s hoping it goes as quick as it came. I was definitely eager to catch the new shot when it dropped but lol got the early access

Lol this thread is so weird. I have several friends who attend. Exactly zero of them I would consider “rich.” Artsy hippie types, sure, but lmao not rich.

80% of bosses say they regret earlier return-to-office plans: ‘A lot of executives have egg on their faces’ (www.cnbc.com)

80% of bosses say they regret earlier return-to-office plans: ‘A lot of executives have egg on their faces’::As some business leaders accept hybrid work as a permanent reality, others are backtracking on earlier pledges to let employees work from home.

RinseDrizzle ,

I’ve never really accepted the theory that return to office pushes are driven by office maintenance costs, or whatever. Hell, those expenses go UP when everyone is back. Working from home takes away electrical usage, and mitigates janitorial demand. If productivity is up or equal, and building maintenance costs are down, then wtf is it really about?

Just started a new gig and trying to save up PTO for travel, but damn this is a tempting set up. Last gig working (4) 10-hour days with perpetual Fridays off already felt pretty damn good. Same amount of time physically in the office, but that extra free day felt so much more liberating. Really gives you time to run errands, get into shenanigans, and actually decompress before Monday kicks off.

Viva la revolution! Let us all be fucking in heaven!

Be honest, do you still use reddit?

I used to check the front page at least once every day, and occassionally check specific subreddits. Now I don’t look at reddit unless theres some drama, like mods getting purged, then I’d go there and enjoy the drama. Occasionally there will be questions that only reddit has the answer to so I have to reluctantly use it. I...

Not really since RIF is RIP. I do miss some extra content from niche communities, but I’m hoping Lemmy will grow enough to fill those gaps. Reddit was also a big news source, but I’ll be hitting other news outlets until Lemmy gets there too.

Here’s hoping Lemmy will be able to scratch my various music and art itches enough. No interest in going back to reddit these days though. The site I knew and loved over the last decade+ is no more. It’s sucked seeing it devolve over the years. Feels a lot like when everyone’s mom got facebook.
