Another person’s perceptual experience may not be the same as ours.

This is Fundamental to understanding the experience of folks. I always assumed everyone perceived the way I do & I’m just a sook who can’t cope. This is not true! I am sooo glad my partner now understands this.

Same applies to information processing & seeing patterns. I thought everyone can see what I do. They don’t. We’re ok.

Such a great article.
I have aphantasia. One of my user names was ‘no imagination.’

My son figured it out.

I also have ADHD.

I knew I was different but I didn’t realize how profoundly different I was until my fifties.

Unless and until these sometimes huge differences between humans is realized we will have communication and other difficulties with each other, obviously.

Thanks for posting.

Isn’t it amazing?

I’m having some issues reconciling the difference between the essential me and my neurodiversities.

I definitely need to spend more time with neurodiverse people.

"It’s also worth noting that many, many autistic people just answered, “I’m who I am,” “I’m me,” or “I don’t know who I am.”" That's me to the t! I even had a diagnosis for "unspecified identity disorder", before finding out I'm autistic.

This thread has given me a glimmer of a hope of understanding myself.

I know I’m ADHD. My autistic friends insist I’m on the spectrum.

I have no clue as to who I am.

In the movie I watched last night, the bad guy tells the brilliant researcher to follow his commands or "I'll send you back to Cornell or whatever hole I found you in. Good luck supporting your lifestyle on an instructor's salary!"

And that's literally the only thing I remember about the movie now.
