A great aunt Mulva? Are you sure it’s not Delores???

An extra capacitor for your air conditioner (if you have one). They’re like $20-$30.

Our AC stopped working today and we were very lucky there was a store relatively near us that had them in stock and would sell to homeowners (I guess some places only sell AC parts to contractors). Anyways, it was easy to replace, our AC is back, and we got an extra one for the next time we have to replace it.

Oof that is a big increase in price. But you saved a lot more doing it yourself than you would have calling someone to fix it.

12 reasons to stop using Goodreads - selected by Goodreads staff (help.goodreads.com)

It could be kind of lame to poke fun at a site that I don’t use (anymore), but I find this funny enough to share: Goodreads has started changing and updating their site last year, but apparently they’ve broken a ton of things in the process, and now they’ve published an announcement with the list of 12 bugs they’re...

I’ve gone through phases where I try to like Goodreads and use it but then I just get annoyed and I get like 1000 emails from them. Idk it just doesn’t seem to do it for me. I get nothing out of it and it feels like work to keep track of all the books I’ve read and then rate them. It’s just a chore.

Ugh don’t look at my bookshelves. They’re overflowing.

There’s just something so comforting about having books around. It makes my office feel cozy and it gives real professor vibes even though I’m not teaching anymore.

I’ve thought about reading Dune but it seems really daunting. I’m not like averse to big books (usually I’m the opposite) but it just seems like it’s dense. And if something is too complicated I have trouble getting sucked into the book. Then I get frustrated…then I give up hahaha!

I was sick this week so I couldn’t concentrate on a book. But I did finally read a magazine called Lilith which is a Jewish Feminist magazine. It was the first issue I got since I subscribed and it was really interesting!

Oooo Diary is great!

Alton Brown Shaming

Saw my old foodnetwork hero AB disgrace himself on a commercial for snake oil brain sharpening pills. Such a pity to see someone that has a keen scientific mind turn his back on sound scientific logic for a quick buck. He knows this is garbage and it preys on his own fan base and the elderly. Suck on a cheesecloth sack of...

Ugh those commercials really are disappointing because I really like Alton. He always seemed like he had a lot of scientific integrity. But then I see him in those ads and I lose respect for him.

Reddit was getting pretty aggressive. I’m not really into that and I didn’t want that aggression pointed towards me.

Looks awesome!! I use this bundt pan a lot: a.co/d/3obv9Y4

It makes a beautiful cake! You’ve got the hard part taken care of (the baking part!) and now you can get all fancy!

I read when When Women were Dragons! It was excellent! I read a couple other books too but this one really stood out to me. It was a coming of age story that was a metaphor for basic feminist theory.

There’s a local theater by me that does the same thing, and you get a free mini popcorn. Can’t beat it!
