Yes. I love New Vegas. Fantastic storylines. I started off with 2 and I'd say that New Vegas is the title I remember with the most fondness. The Fallout franchise is in my top 3. Just a joy to play.

Have I tried unsuccessfully to revist it several times over the years? Also yes.

I came here early in the reddit migration. The content I wanted was there, but I understood that new content would be created here with time.That proved to be completely true. The amount of content has absolutely exploded in a short time and it's still growing.

It was worth the risk to use something that both reflects my value system and does not support those that actively behave in ways I find deplorable. I'd rather not engage in social media at all than support any of those monsters. I never used x/twitter. I left Facebook years and years ago, but was never a huge fan anyway. But, make no mistake, I really loved reddit. I adored it. It was my favorite place on the internet for a third of my life. But spez ruined it by mistreating people. It hurt to leave, but I had no other option.

I think the lack of content is an excuse. I think, if you haven't left by now, you just don't really care - especially if you are aware of alternatives. You probably don't want to have to care either.

This is it. The US has gone so far right that centrism seems left wing. I have been generally comfortable with the tone of the conversation in the fediverse. Occasionally, I'd like to pull the conversations further left. I've been peeved or mildly disappointed, but never actually enraged or flabbergasted. Conversations have been pleasant and reasonable, even when I disagree with what's being said. It's been pleasant.

On my feed, at least, I have my frontpage set to whatever the kbin equivalent to "all" is. I see lots of other languages beyond English populating - particularly German. The Lemmy instance I chose when I initially made my way to the fediverse operates out of China. They're chill over there.

I dunno. I think if you're only finding people discussing the US here, then you've probably accidentally pigeonholed yourself based on your own interests. The fediverse is diverse.

I'd say most people are Chinese, but that's not correct - a quarter of the world's population is East Asian. This is the largest group in the world.

So, I'd say that's an odd quantifier that doesn't really seem to have any support or credibility or relevance. Seems based on entirely nothing, actually. Further more, were that true or even possible, what's your point?

Why do people self-harm?

I don’t really understand why people do it. Not like “they’re doing it because they are depressed and feel bad”, I had depression myself but never had a call to injure myself. I hate pain, and doing something painful to myself while I’m already feeling bad doesn’t really sound appealing. So I don’t quite get what...

The repost bots were fairly easy to spot, but I sadly never found a situation like the one you're describing. I don't use reddit anymore, but the information may be useful elsewhere.
