A bunch of Secret Service agents got fired over the course of those revelations, but that sort of incompetence and dereliction of duty is systemic.

Ok… I have found that many, if not all of the issues of Star Trek Communicator (where this was also printed) have been scanned into archive.org. There’s well over 100 of them, so I’m not going looking for it, but maybe someone else will want to take that on. Just search for “star trek communicator site:archive.org” if you’re using Google. Not sure about other search engines.

Wow. This brought up an old memory. Back in the 90s in the college town where I grew up, a student was fucking around in a creek on campus after a storm, got caught in the current and ended up being whipped around through city storm drains for quite some distance. He ended up being fine.

Then, a few months later, Penn and Teller come into town. They’re doing some sort of trick on stage that involves getting someone from the audience and having them say something unique about them. I’m really sure it was not part of the act, just a coincidence, but that’s the guy they call on. Of course, he gets a huge round of applause, especially since the big performance theater is right in the middle of campus.

Obviously, that guy was lucky he wasn’t killed, but I haven’t thought about that since it happened in the 90s.

It doesn’t make her look insane, it makes the people making some sort of deal about this look insane. Because I had to look it up and I still didn’t get it and multiple people have since told me it was the same for them.

If you want to make fun of someone during an election, maybe picking some obscure moment from a speech no one listened to isn’t the best tack.

Good. The more racist they get, the more likely they will lose. There are a lot of racist Americans, make no mistake, but even a lot of them get a bad taste in their mouth when the racism gets overt from politicians. They want laws that benefit them as white people, they don’t want to hear about how Biden is a friend to the N-s.

It doesn’t get that unpleasant in Indiana very often, but I live near a golf course and I’ve seen golfers out in recent weeks both when it was in the 90s but felt like over 110 with the humidity and not a cloud in the sky and also when it was thunderstorming.

Apparently there are some very dedicated, but stupid, golfers out there.
