Still fine with my Pixel Watch I got for free with my Pixel 7P.
I would have never get a smart watch though. Not my jam.

Not OP but still good.
It takes many small efforts to make a big change! :)

Appoxo ,

Both.
But becauee my indexers are free my mix is:
75% Torrent
20% Usenet (but only wirh interactive searches)
5% Somewhere else like web streaming/downloads.

Appoxo ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Usenet provides you with very timely access to all the “newest” stuff, in excellent, very consistent quality.

So do some encoders and web-rippers.
And usually Usenet does lend quite a bit of releases you usually see on private indexers or some publics.

Retention doesnt matter for anything released beyond the retention as it was reuploaded anyway.

Home entertainment with NAS?

Hi! My goal: I want to set up a beamer projector in my flat and connect that to some kind of ‘always on’ machine with which I can stream (currently Netflix a bit but that really is not a priority as I am thinking of cancelling it) but would also like it to be a torrent client (I have a VPN) to download some media. Though...

Appoxo ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

I do it like that.
8TB external drive on an 11th i5 gen nuc.
Almost every service is dockerized because I can’t be bothered to manage the dependencies.

Appoxo ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

I use both on a Pixel 7 Pro.
Can’t confirm that.

I hope it’s something in the direction BlueMonkey did with Steve and Alex.

Dunno what you mean by “free”
If you mean AppleTV then it’s not legal and thus doesnt count

Appoxo ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

You pay in time you wait for the ads to end.
Sure you could timeshift the program and cut out the ads by an automatic progress but the quality is so low, you would be better off watching min encodes from pirate bay. And those will still be better than the 1080i signal you received.
Thanks but I’ll pass

Can I refuse MS Authenticator?

So my company decided to migrate office suite and email etc to Microsoft365. Whatever. But for 2FA login they decided to disable the option to choose “any authenticator” and force Microsoft Authenticator on the (private) phones of both employees and volunteers. Is there any valid reason why they would do this, like it’s...

Appoxo ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

I managed to get around the MS auth app and am using aegis right now.

Appoxo OP ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

It’s “needed” to increase throughput.
The current head station is a head station meaning it ends here and then they do a U-turn and go back different direction.

Also it’s planned as a fully digital station which is supposed to increase the throughput as well as the trains can be dynamically throttled when enetering the station.

Current trackplan: https://wikireal.info/w/images/c/c3/Kopfbahnhof.png

Stuttgart 21:

Planned changes on a map:

Appoxo OP ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Not done and still in construction but I could see it being done by 2030 (at least so trains can fully drive through).

(Disclaimer: The descriptions could be wrong for the east/west orientation :P)

Appoxo OP ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

If I remember our guide correct, the current max speed into the main station is 50kp/h max vs S21 being at 80kph.
Because it’s planned as the first fully digital station (meaning only digital equipped trains can pass due to signaling) it should be able to not require full stops or similar.

At least what the guide told us seemed all logical and dainty but it still is taking a ton of time and money.

Appoxo OP ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

It’s like any budget planned in Germany (or the world) for mega projects like this.
But I can understand that considering this is (according to the guide) basically a full concrete-slab and cube underground made in basically one pour.

Appoxo OP ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

May be. I just thought the tour was interesting and wanted to share a bit what I was told.

But you aren’t wrong with your position.

Appoxo OP ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

A main station

Appoxo OP ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Please put a spoiler or disclaimer before that picture.
It’s important to know but it’s a bit too graphic. :/

Appoxo OP ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

It’s weird with some posts. Sometimes it works also on sync sometimes not…

Appoxo OP ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Same here. The tour was interesting and the offer to see what could not be seen or done easily (like entering the train tunnel) was something I couldnt pass.
But the things that happened before this is not something what should be forgot.

Imo iLO5 is a big improvement over iLO4.
Also you can download an iLO remote client to not be required to login to the web ui.

Appoxo ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Little application to avoid the login to the web-ui.
Link to download the standalone client: support.hpe.com/connect/s/softwaredetails?languag…

Upside: You won’t get thrown out of your remote session while having an ISO mounted.
Upside 2: You avoid having to use Edge, to enable IE legacy mode to being able to use the .NET console.

Appoxo ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

In that case it seems you are stuck with logging into the ilo web-ui and the java applet or the html player. I am not aware of a linux player.
Your best bet would be to browse the support repository of the hpe page. Maybe you can find a sort of OSS-version someone created.

Edit: Maybe try to run it with proton/wine? That should be fine if you just want to use it to remote into the server

Appoxo ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Havent encountered that issue thus far. Did you try a reset of the iLO?

Appoxo ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Is it only water specifically?
Couldnt it also apply to oil because it’s fluid based?

Appoxo ,

The mobile search doesnt look much different. The order on mobile is as follows:

  • A snippet from glogs.wordlbank.org
  • People also ask
  • Forbes article (see screenshot above)
  • www.epa.gov article

Both are Firefox Desktop (Win) and Mobile (Android) running Consent-O-Matic and ublock Origin

Why do you say this existed? :(

Now I am sad I didnt know about it earlier…

Appoxo ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

No idea how fast they want to roll it out globally.
But by the recent track record I’d wager they are doing it rather fast than slow.

Appoxo ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

I wouldn’t try it for a permanent machine as it could backfire when Microsoft trys to enforce it and could lock up the machine somehow (because bigs not because evil corpo)

Vertical tabs will be neat for my ultra-wide!

Appoxo ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

I use it on a Pixel 7 Pro. Can’t say I have the same issues.
I also have a notorious problem with too many tabs (I am beyond 99)

Appoxo ,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Something like a deeper integration of an addOn/extension would be nice.
Modularity could be a way to do it.
