Hey, academic journal editors... I have suggestion.

I don't recommend your asking authors to change self-citations to "Author" instead of (for example) "Gehl 2024."

It undermines, rather than protects, the double-blind review process. 1/3

Every couple of months I get slightly annoyed by Zotero and look for other reference managers and come to the conclusion that others are far more buggy!

Why don’t we have a reference manager that’s more — modern? Why can’t I take notes like I would in a good text editor? The way to add notes is clunky, I can’t easily see what papers have cited the current paper? Generating notes from my annotations is always not intuitive? Am I missing something here?

@aspiringcat @academicchatter Papers was an amazing app, completely change my life back in early 2000s. I had high hopes for it…but then it got bought out and turned into readcube. It’s so surprising that there isn’t something better than zotero
