Rental online prices of old movies are too high.

To rent a movie from 2005, I need to pay 4 euros. A standard with ads Netflix subscription is 5 euros or lowest tier without ads 8 euros (so 1,25x or 2x the price for unlimited access). I’ve encountered this multiple times. I’d be open to paying, but it just doesn’t add up for me. So what do I do? Sail the seven seas....

idk Ridley, maybe it’s great but directors have a lot of hubris in thinking anyone would want to sit through a 4.5 hour film. at that point your best bet is to release it as a miniseries like the extended cut of Hateful Eight

I used to pay for software subscriptions. I had a subscription to Substance 3D software and then they sold their company to Adobe 🤮 so now I 🏴‍☠️

also stopped paying for Spotify after the Rogan deal. I still use the free version for the “discover weekly” playlists, and I can’t tolerate ads so I use an app called Mutify which mutes the ads as soon as they start playing which is a godsend

never paid for any streaming subscriptions and never will, VPN+piracy+Plex is an objectively better experience. no ads, no content removal, no paying $$$ to rich psychopathic ghouls
