It really isn’t magic, which is exactly why Linux is so amazing. You can use any tiling window manager and it will act the same way. It will detect the screen of the device and give you ways of altering it to your liking with a few lines of text. And it’s all documented how to do it.

Thinking? It’s a popularity contest. Like picking Miss March. The way trump talks is very charming to a lot of people, so he is popular.

Cleaner Code.

1984 , to showerthoughts in When Harris had to pick a VP, all media kinda agreed it should be a white male, to balance the fact that she is black and a woman. So Walz is the DEI hire.
@1984@lemmy.today avatar

Yes because a black woman needs a white man to “balance” the fact… :)

America is a very strange country.

@1984@lemmy.today avatar

Well, I tried it and it looks good. I’m glad they are adding something new to the browser. It’s been a long time since that happened it feels like.

It’s buggy still though and still in development.

Absolutely. Put it at 20 or 30 or whatever is needed. I would do that in an instant, but of course, making enemies from the powerful greedy corps will mean that I won’t be around long.

@1984@lemmy.today avatar

I was also kind of blown away by the Firefox nightly version, where they have a new sidebar. In that sidebar, you have buttons for having chat gpt open if you want. But that’s not the impressive part. It also lets you choose from other models like huggingface, so anyone can try them and understand how the open models are without any installation.

Very cool.

I don’t have minimum wage though.

A good way to avoid being exploited is to have some skills worth paying for…

That being said, I would double minimum wage if I was in charge, because I value human happiness more than profits.

Fuck extreme capitalism. Needs to be a balance between that and human happiness.

You are like 10 years late to discover this, but sure… Of course you can escape Microsoft. They are very easy to avoid.

Linux is amazing. Just a hint…

There are models you can download and run at home that doesn’t have the politically correct censorship inside. It’s very nice to not have artificial politeness for example, and the models actually answers your actual questions.

You need a powerful computer for some of them though.

Even better would be to use certificates instead of passwords. What if every website gave you a certificate signed by them, and you store that in your password manager automatically.

Maybe that’s what passkeys are… Haven’t read up on them at all.

@1984@lemmy.today avatar

More people may buy them at lower prices, so it doesn’t translate to worse sales…

Amd is quite expensive, that’s what it’s down so much. Their stocks are more expensive than Nvidia which is why it’s falling behind so much.

1984 , to asklemmy in Recommendations on a quality clip on NC microphone?
@1984@lemmy.today avatar

The human voice is a different frequency then construction noise though. Isn’t it possible to build a microphone who filters out other frequencies? Maybe even customized to the users frequency?

I know nothing about this, just asking.
