OK so #Reddit search has always sucked.
It has sucked especially in the New Reddit era.
Now, they have deployed the Even Newer Reddit user interface.
One of my biggest use cases of Reddit was "what are people in various communities talking about this particular video"?
In Old.Reddit, you could at least see crossposts in the unlikely case that the YouTube URL was somehow equivalent to the actual URL posted to Reddit. You know, because YouTube videos could be called upon by many requests, and Reddit fucking gave no shit about any URL normalisation.
But they at least let you see if anyone had crossposted shit.
Apparently, the New New User Interface fucking doesn't even let you do that. I tried searching for a particular video that was already posted in particular communities. Nothing.
Tried Google Search to find this particular thing. OK, found it.
Slapped "old." to it. "6 discussions."
That's it. Reddit was already shit at finding discussions about particular YouTube videos if you didn't use old.reddit. The new Reddit interface at least pretended the crossposts were there. Crossposts no longer are there. Why the fuck do people even follow the site any more.
My issue is on Mobile is the past is long as hell breaking down the mechanics of something I can’t even view the full thing and I refuse to use the app. I’ve tried tapping scrolling and other things too.
Why the fuck do people even follow the site any more.
Unfortunately, that's where all the content is. Things like this don't bother a lot of people — for example, discussion about YT videos wasn't something I ever used Reddit for — and as long as Reddit is the only platform providing what they're interested in, they're going to stay.
Rifle club met at the school. Students took their guns to school for show and tell then left them in the trunk or gun rack in the school parking lot. Nobody got shot.
"Much has changed over time. While more than 100,000 students walked out of school to support gun control, it wasn’t that long ago that students went to school with firearms. At one time, even New York City Public High Schools actually had gun ranges on campus."
"Below is a picture of the 1931 girls’ rifle team outside Huntington (NY) High School."
Imagine that, students had high-powered rifles at school and they didn't mass shoot each other. Some schools had shooting ranges and gun lockers. In some parts of the country students and teachers kept their guns in the trunks of their cars on campus.
In the 1960s my dad and uncles regularly walked across town with their rifles, and across the high school campus to go hunting in the woods at that edge of town. No one ever called the cops on them. No swat team ever showed up to disarm the "dangerous" gun toters. You could hardly find anyone that didn't have guns and take them out for target plinking and hunting.
Even when I was a kid, in the small town I lived in, we still drove around with our guns in the trunk or gun rack. Nobody batted an eyelash. In the part of the country that I currently live in most people have guns and many carry handguns. The only shooting we've had in years was when a trigger-happy cop decided to shoot some young man because the cop, "was afraid."
The photo attached to this post shows real "female empowerment."
@schizanon@gaming That’s part of why I’m always surprised at how much people will rail on bugs in games now. I mean sure if a bug makes a game literally impossible to complete, rail away. But half the stuff people complain about are things that when I was a kid would have been treated as hilarious quirks and possibly things vital to the ability to speed run the games.
It's not great, but my favorite part is how it's all these cartoons like Mickey and Donald Duck and then Jack Sparrow's there like "Wait, I'm in this too!?"
Lemmy Admins Are Full Of Shit. They Are Obsessed With Having Power, Silencing Users, Banning Users, And Want To Use A Karma System Like Reddit To Restrict Your Ability To Use Lemmy.
I know I'm being dramatic here, but something just hasn't been sitting well with me ever since I started using Lemmy.
There's just this feeling I get here that the admins have a fucking agenda. And I could be wrong. But I hate bullshiters who won't tell it like it is.
More people need to call admins out on their bullshit. It's getting fucking ridiculous.
And I'm tired of the fucking arrogant attitude that some how running a server and being an admin makes you important in some way as if you're going to be the next elon musk or something. Get over yourselves.
It really feels that there is an ulterior motive based on what I see in the matrix chats.
Admins are not being transparent about there motives.
I'm on pretty much all of the lemmy matrix chats, and all they talk about is restricting the users experience, banning, defederating, purging accounts when they ban them so the user doesn't see why they were banned, and any everything that will put them in a position of power.
I also feel like they have accounts on all the other instances and post other bullshit trying to push their agenda and make these changes seem like a good idea.
Admins, quit fucking bullshitting like you're trying not to be like reddit. Yall seem to wet your panties at the idea of basically being in complete and total control of everything and Ban who ever you want based on your political ideologies.
I'm sure their are some who are not like this.
Im sick of this morally superior attiitude and sense that your beliefs and actions are of greater virtue then everyone else. Yall are smugly moralistic and intolerant of different opinions and its fucking obvious.
Stop being fucking deceitful and tell the goddamn truth.
Please explain to everyone your intentions.
This is just one of many. I attached the rest here. I apologize for any duplicates.
It’s not OP’s fault, but voting is how we’re supposed to curate content. This post doesn’t have a title or description so it’s a bad post on lemmy and I think downvoting it is acceptable. Don’t consider votes a reflection of a user’s value or standing
I must say compairing my playthru so far with a number of let's plays on the same difficulty (balanced) and turning OFF Karmaic Dice seems to have made my playthrough easier but the fights DO take longer since there a lot more misses.
