Hey, nobody said that Canada is perfect. But at least we don’t murder migrant workers, we give women rights, and don’t jail people for being gay.

Canada also doesn’t make abuse and inhumane treatment of people part of the law, so if these things happen, we seek change to remedy it. 🤭

First Nations people would like to disagree with you there bud. Canada still occupies unceded native land, regularly does raids on First Nations sovereign territory, and has been running concentration camps for kids in form of residential schools into late 80s. Canada is one of the most deplorable apartheid regimes in the world today.

We have been making great strides to not only reconcile the horrible things our government did to our first nations people, but to also go beyond that and to actually recognize and celebrate the importance of our first nations.

The ones run by Christian churches? Horrible. Every Canadian agrees, and the Canadian Government has been doing everything they can to make up for it.

There’s no denying that Canada, like pretty much every nation ever, has some bad history.

But unlike a country like Qatar, who makes human rights violations part of their law, Canada is making efforts to not only bring those atrocities to light, but to support the victims and people affected.

Or are these the actions of bad cops?

Canadians don’t actually want our police officers to hurt people, which is why we protest when anything like that happens. A protest in Qatar would get you jailed or worse, even if it’s only on social media.

Law enforcement enforces law. Canadian settler colony enforces the law of the land, that being genocide of indigenous people. It is what many English countries have done. USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand… the list is not very short.

But you are the one trying to deny or mitigate any mention of or criticism of settler colony (NOT A COUNTRY) called Canada. Qatar is infinitely more humane than Canada merely due to Canada’s existence.
