His picture in the thumbnail makes him look like Baron Harkonnen.

Yet Harkonnen is somehow the more likeable one…

Conservatives instinctively delight in the misery of others. Destroying the environment causes mass misery, which is irresistible to a conservative.

Conservatives absolutely love heating the planet, because they love to hear the wailing and cries of their victims. Fox News is misery porn, mocking and celebrating the pain and death of their victims.

This turd needs to ride through a woodchipper. Would be 1000x more useful to the world as compost.

phoenixz ,

I’m against government sanctioned death penalties.

I’m against vigilantism

If if anyone accidentally let his wheelchair slip in front of a wood chipper I’d just accidentally look at that birdie flying around whilst Listening to the beautiful music coming out of that chipper

IHaveTwoCows ,

Perhaps you should consider re-evaluating the first two points

zephyreks ,

Sounds like you’re pro-vigilantism to me.

phoenixz ,

Let’s just say I’m not, I just have a very short list of people that are exceptions to the rule. I think people like Murdoch are way worse than pedo rapists and serial killers because he is and will be responsible for millions of deaths due to his actions. In that aspect I think it’s fair enough to draw the Hitler comparison, hence him being on that short list

zephyreks ,

By definition, that is pro-vigilantism

UnknownQuantity ,

Scientists? Didn’t every critically thinking person know?

silence7 ,

critically thinking

A lot of people don’t, and it’s generally hard to do when looking at TV instead of a printed article.

James Cromwell’s character said it best in Succession, something like:

Because of his misinformation - pandering to the climate change deniers - he may be more personally responsible for the death of this planet than any other person in history.

History will not be kind to him and his empire.

Which matters none as he’ll be dead.

The present should not be kind to these people, not leaving it to history.

He procreated so his Empire will sadly live on, his kids may change the names of companies to throw people off but it will be the same

There are some deaths that will do mankind a great service. His is one of them.

Let’s hope his follow up doesn’t have the ability to continue sowing the seeds of discord.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Murdoch’s outlets, including Fox News, the Wall Street Journal and The Australian, have long been known to promote doubts about the cause and consequences of the climate crisis.

UK thinktank the Institute for Strategic Dialogue described Murdoch’s Sky News Australia as a global hub for spreading climate change misinformation.

In a foreword to a 2022 company environment report, Murdoch wrote News Corp was “filled with people who are creative and collaborative, and possessing an abiding sense of curiosity about the world around us”.

Fox Corporation announced on Friday that the former Australian prime minister Tony Abbott, who has repeatedly said he does not accept mainstream climate science and whose government repealed carbon price legislation, had been nominated for a board position.

Rupert Murdoch’s son Lachlan, who is set to become the sole chair of Fox and News Corp after his father’s retirement, said Abbott had “skills, experience and perspectives” that would benefit the company.

Dr Peter Gleick, a co-founder of the California-based Pacific Institute, said Murdoch was responsible for pushing “decades of dangerous climate misinformation and denial to millions of people”.
