This seems flawed… I would have thought 1 million times more, or even orders of magniture more than 1 million

That’s honestly a much, much lower difference than I would have expected. I’d have guessed something like a million times more.

Like, 13% of the world don’t have access to electricity. You mean to tell me that the dirtiest most CO2 producing coal-powered black smoke belching industrial monstrosity only produces 1000 more CO2 than people who have no electricity, don’t eat meat, and live near the equator where it’s much easier to stay warm and there are no seasons?

Edit: I checked the article and it explains at the bottom that it’s comparing energy related household emissions, not industrial or agricultural etc., and only of CO2 only rather than the much more useful (but probably harder to gather data on) CO2 equivalent. That explains why the number is so low.
