Hamas set to reject Gaza hostage and ceasefire deal, demand more prisoners - report

Hamas is set to reject on Sunday evening the Gaza hostage and ceasefire deal proposed in Paris last week, Saudi outlet Al-Arabiya reported.

According to the report, the terror organization is set to demand an increase in the number of Palestinian terrorists released from Israeli prisons.

Later, KAN, citing a Hamas source speaking to Al-Quds newspaper, reported that for the time being, it is Hamas’s position that the beginning of a deal has not been reached. The source went on to add that Hamas maintained its insistence that the IDF withdraw from Gaza and provide Hamas with certain guarantees to end the war.

Reportedly, Hamas’s official response to the hostage deal will not come on Sunday evening.

This article fails to clarify that the ceasefire is for two months and not a permanent ceasefire. Hamas has already agreed to release all the hostages for a full ceasefire.

Israel wants the hostages returned only if they can continue their bombing campaigns after the pause

blahsay ,

Hamas will never let those poor women tell of their horrors.

They will just go through the motions of pretending to want peace.

Reported as a headline mismatch, but the site changed the headline, not OPs fault.

Current headline:

“Hamas denies rejection of hostage, ceasefire deal, says will deliver answer soon”

Hamas will never give up all the civilian hostages they took until they are militarily forced to.

Or Israel ends the illegal occupation and genocide

i_have_no_enemies ,

a genocide with humanitarian corridors and aid and leaflets before bombing and roof knocking?

vind ,
@vind@lemmy.world avatar

The humanitarian corridors which are actually forced displacement (you know, Genocide method) AND that they’ve continued to bomb?

The leaflets with QR codes that most people can’t scan because Israel shut off all electricity and internet access in Gaza, which also makes evacuation more difficult for civilians?

The aid that they repeatedly and continuously refuse to let enter Gaza?

The roof knocking that was abandoned as a practice in October, and was never a successful method of warning for civilians?

i_have_no_enemies ,

israel force displaces it’s own population as well as a counter measure near lebanon border when hezbollah started to threaten as well and palestininan displacement is temporary not permanent, they bombed only selective parts where hamas was present else they would not be bothered with installing them

there are other leaflets as well without qr codes

here is idf soldiers distributing aid directly distributing aid as they have been tasked to because hamas steals aid from gazans
