dingus182 , in Samantha Fox - Touch Me (1986)

Samantha Fox mentioned in an interview that she failed her driving test four times due to the distraction of having around 20 cars following her and taking pictures while she was taking the test. This made the experience nerve-wracking for her.

The press stalking a young woman (was it her they did a “countdown to 18” over?) seemed creepy even back then.

If you’re enjoying Yes, have you tried a bit of Emerson, Lake & Palmer?

There’s some comparatively easy to listen ones in their covers of Fanfare for the Common Man and Pictures at an Exhibition (both youtube links). If you like your music a bit more “difficult”, there’s a bit of everything stylistically in their regular albums.

JohnSmith , in Black Sabbath - Heaven And Hell [ English Rock \ Heavy Metal ]

Great record full of great tunes. My favourite is Neon Knights. www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKlz83CZ3I4Not sure if I agree with the two greatest vocalists assertion. Freddie Mercury, Chris Cornell and Myles Kennedy, for examples, are in my view better vocalists than Ozzy. Ronnie, though, will for me always be the best.

You and I must have been having the same thinking about Lemmy while browsing Lemmy, I just shared this on !ClassicRock 🤘🤘🤘

Not usually but I happened to hear some of it at the weekend.

There was a moment where they played Johnny Marr talking about how they made the guitar sounds on How Soon Is Now.

It was fascinating to me in several ways; I really don’t like the singing on Morrissey songs except for that one and I’m not a fan as a result, I really like Marr as a guitarist, and I have a life long interest in how music is made and recorded.

The moment my wife walked in and started to talk to me, I had to request she stopped so I could hear the description.

I’ll be trying to catch some more of Cerys and I’ll be going back through the archives to see if I can find any gems.

That’ll be this episode of Add to Playlist. I thoroughly enjoyed that but they’ve all been excellent so far. You couldn’t go far wrong just working back through the episodes.

Thanks for the link, I very quickly found Rick Wakemam so that’s a great start!

Anyone remember the kids’ show It’ll Never Work?

FatLegTed , in Pulp - Common People [1995]

I much prefer the William Shatner/Joe Jackson version.

Never rated Pulp but when I heard this version on Radio Paradise, I was outstanded. Magnificent.

Emperor OP ,
@Emperor@feddit.uk avatar

The Shatner version is clearly the best, it has 100% more Shatner in for starters.

When did Pop lose it’s working class relevance?

TheUnicornOfPerfidy , in Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip - The Beat That My Heart Skipped

Every now and then I cower, 'cos I need to find empowerment. Empowerment is paramount, to how I can begin to mount, a plan that I can implement, to make a dent on ignorance, instead of drunk belligerents, and the dissidents of miscrients.

It’s good stuff even written down.

They’re still experimenting with their music and I love the Prodigy/Atari Teenage Riot sound they have going here.
