Accounts which solely post advertisements, or persistently post them may be terminated.

Quite why NaNoWriMo needs to have an opinion about the use of generative AI is beyond me.

A major sponsor of NaNoWriMo is ProWritingAid, who are pushing their new AI Sparks genAI writing tool.

So, at a guess, I’d say that’s why.
