it looked exactly like that until like a year ago or something. steam is the only app i know that got updated like every single day and literally nothing changed in it for years at a time.
Before the UI overhaul you were able to disable the WebHelper, significantly decreasing RAM usage. I’m also facing the same issue with the vrdashboard process from SteamVR, which is just a Chromium/Electron instance
Ive acc had this for years, steam just seems to be a massive network hog. I think it might have something to do with a router setting, but my solution is to set my download speed cap to around 2mb/s below my internet speed (i have 8mb/s internet) and that seems to do fine.
Try going into the Steam settings and make sure that the appropriate controller is enabled for steam input. I had the same issue recently when switching from an Xbox controller to a Gulikit. Enabling Xbox input in Steam fixed it - even though the new controller is not an Xbox controller, and a real Xbox controller worked fine without enabling it.
I haven’t done this in a while, but you might want to check out the community controller configs. I had a 3rd party controller with a few buttons that steam couldn’t detect, but someone had uploaded a config that worked perfectly for it.
