If we were created then the creators probably put fail safes so we can't see our own code.
Was thinking about this in terms of AI. As we create it we are probably going to put fail safes on it. So it would be reasonable then to assume if we were created the same thing would be programmed in us.
If the classic TV show sci-fi trope of eating pills for food had became a reality, would humans overtime no longer be able to chew?
evolutionary wise, very far into the future would we develop different mouths and very few teeth?...
Evolutionarily, at some point we were similar to rodents, nocturnal so that massive reptiles wouldn't hunt us. It's ironic that millions of years later we had a TV show called The Crocodile Hunter, (lemmy.ml)
… a TV show featuring a human ‘hunting’ big reptiles....

You can dance the Macarena to other songs besides the Macarena.
Try it sometime.
The fact that we aren’t aware of every process in our body means our brains aren’t fully connected with our bodies.
There are behaviors we stopped doing because of speciation. For each of those behaviors, there is a day in history in which one of our ancestors did it for the very last time.
DNA Testing Would Clear Out the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Pretty Fast.
If social networks keep copying features from each other, eventually they will all look the same
YouTube shorts and Instagram reels are a rip-off of TikTok....
Do kids talk like cartoons or do cartoons try to talk like kids?
There are certain action phrases in cartoons that kids imitate. There’s also a kind of children’s books writer tone to many programs, simplified language, certain ways of explaining things slowly or expressing emotions
Is the Fediverse (or thrediverse specifically) going to follow the way of the old web?
People using their communities to link to like communities because the fediverse/thrediverse is so vast and it’s not as easy to navigate? Maybe, eventually finding a way to consistently open links to other instances/services in a way that opens it in your preferred instance/service (some sort of protocol or extension). Our...
We should stop saying "The customer is always right" because it's not true
In the grand scheme of things, the customer may have slightly more pull than the cashier ringing up their order, but it’s the CEO and the board of directors that control the narrative. That’s why we’re getting bigger and less fuel efficient vehicles, bigger and more fattening meal portions in restaurants, and bigger less...

Poop is the original processed food
"Made with love" or "designed with love" should require by law that no AI was involved in the production/design process.
Post was made with love :*
Instead of movies and crappy games on those in-flight displays, they should just stream the view out the cockpit window.
Like, I’m on a plane. I don’t want to watch Toy Story when I can do that at home, I want to see what the pilots see. And that way every seat has technically a window to look out of.
Once we can get brain-device-interfaces implanted into us in order to sort of link our brains with a computer/phone, we probably won't get that information as pictures appearing in front of our eyes.
The information would probably be delivered raw into our minds. We’d just know what time it is, what the weather will be, who’s calling us and what the news are saying, without having to process the information.
Why don't planes have a switch beside the call button that you can choose between "wake me up for meal service" or "leave me alone?"
Isn't it weird that we'll never (ever?) talk about lightnings as a potential renewable energy source ?
Seems to my ignorant eyes that we could always somehow split the power received into more manageable units, even if it has to be splitted a million times, 🤷♂️.
TikTok is sending the same video to the same person as DM inapp, that i have shared trough signal or WhatsApp. thats very suspicious.
Our entire existence may be a sort of stable spacetime bubble that can pop at any moment.
Like ants nesting on a river bank, some only live a few days. A colony could live for many ant generations on a riverbank but when a big flood comes their entire world is wiped out.
Cowboys in westerns always have standoffs because the one who draws first attempts murder, to draw second is justified self-defense
Everyone is armed all the time and that’s normal, but to draw a weapon is an overt hostile act. A standoff therefore is a game of chicken because both want to kill each other and you want to draw first to have the highest chance of surviving, but even a bandit will hesitate to add a felony murder charge to their rap sheet. The...
Shows like Master Chef and Hell's Kitchen are designed to glamorize low-paying, labor intensive restaurant jobs and recruit people into the field.

New physical cosmological model
With a mechanism that continually creates matter in the universe we don’t need a big bang. Creation of matter and gravity fields, (net zero) could somehow increase the expansion of the universe. 3d interference pattern of gravitational waves would create rogue waves at specific points in SpaceTime that would create matter and...
