I currently have a storage server with the following config....
ServerClip is a tool for copying contents of a file over various ssh connections. Need to get a log file over to your laptop? This can help.
I’m new to Podman and so far have been completely frustrated by it....
I don’t have access to my router and my ISP charges for port forwarding (I think they might have a CGNAT setup?)....
Edit: wow, this is a never ending comment section!
Hi, my current setup is the following...
I have a NAS which I use for storage and I have a Pi which I use for serving applications....
I have two machines running docker. A (powerful) and B (tiny vps)....
I would be using it to watch jellyfin mostly, but also youtube (I’ve seen that smartube looks good) and netflix....

I would like to set up a NAS/Home Server Combination. I am not particularly experienced with networking and this general area, although I can handle Linux well enough at the very least, so I have a few questions, particularly about security, but also other things....
Hello everybody! I just learned that I can get a free .eu.org domain, but I’m not sure I understand the domain creation process. Any of you has one?...
I got immich with SSO up and running. It runs like a dream compared to Photoprism and is simple enough for me, but also has necessary features like user accounts....
[update, solved] It was apparmor, which was lying about being inactive. Ubuntu’s default profile denies bind write access to its config directory. Needed to add /etc/bind/dnskeys/** rw, reload apparmor, and it’s all good....
I’ve got a NAS built in a Node 304 mini itx case that works great, but uses a ton of power. In Unraid (the OS for my NAS) there is some kind of issue with the Ryzen 3900x processor that I’m running that means I have to disable all sleep states - so it’s always at it’s 100W TDP. Power is super expensive where I live so...
I’m planning to set up LUKS on an SSD. Many guides are suggesting using a simple key to set things up and then revoke it when everything is in place....
I have my own Lemmy instance (Lemmy.emphisia.nl) but I had to take it offline, after running a while it was using more than half of the system memory (16gb in total). Causing the computer to crash as there are a lot of other services also running on it. The problem appears to come from postgress. In btop I can see it spawning a...
Document: “How to Install MeshCentral in a Akamai Connected Cloud Server Running Debian 11 (Version 2.1)”, in OpenDocument Text (ODT) format....
I set up SSL certificates for my internal services behind Traefik, but I was having some issues obtaining the certificates. I ended up having to add this line in my Docker compose file to bypass PiHole which is controlling the internal hostnames for my domain:...
I’ve done a little bit of searching but everything that comes up is about moving vm to vm hosts. I am currently running PiHole and Tailscale on a Pi Zero W 1.1 but it’s hammering the CPU (I assume Tailscale). I also have an always-on Windows Optiplex 3070 that’s running HomeAssistant on a VMWare vm. I found a $65 Optiplex...
I wrote a blog post detailing my homelab setup throughout 2023. It includes the hardware I use, as well as the applications I selfhosted. I also detailed how I automate my home Kubernetes cluster and how I back up my data.
I’m gonna build my first ever server with a old laptop I have. Bought a 240gb ssd to install in it and plan to use manjaro to do it. I’ll add some HDs to it and a total of 4tb, not counting the ssd, I wanna leave that only for the system. I have a jellyfin server kn my desktop and wanna change it to this laptop. Also wanna...
