I’m running OwnCloud in Docker and have setup NGinx as a reverse proxy. This works perfectly for all my other services, but OwnCloud keeps throwing the untrusted domain error. I’ve edited the config.php file to add my exampledemain.com but no dice. Does anybody know what I need to do?
I followed this guide: notthebe.ee/blog/easy-ssl-in-homelab-dns01/...
So I’ve seen the TP-Link and GL.inet travel routers, and it looks like some of the GLs are/were built to run wrt firmwares. Stock TP firmwares have been pretty full features in my experience. I really want USB-C power. The GL wireguard support looks useful too, but it looks like their newer stuff is proprietary? Another want,...

I’m trying to de-Google my life and self-host more. One tricky point with me is calendaring. I can get a CalDav server running and syncing with my Android phone without much hassle, but I haven’t yet found a server or client that can send e-mail reminders for events, rather than just pop-up notifications....
I noticed that Linux server distros are using LVM as default. What is so good about LVM, and when should I use it? Is there a GUI for managing LVM volumes like GParted, or is it just through the terminal? How is it different from RAID in using multiple drives for one volume?
I’m going to be running a Jellyfin server, and I don’t want to maintain it a lot, I just want it to work. Would using Docker be the easier way to maintain Jellyfin, or would using Podman be better? (I don’t want to deal with SELinux, firewalls, port forwarding, etc.)

What’s a good way to have a simple self hosted (in Docker would be nice) web interface for starting yt-dlp jobs?...

Hi guys...
I recently moved from a non docker ubuntu 18.04 setup to a full docker 22.04 setup. I used to get a pretty consistent 95-105 MB/s in sab. I can’t seem to get more than 70 MB/s in my new setup. Both my usenet providers are setup the same and using 50 connections. I’d love to blame docker, but thought i see if anyone here has...
An extended family member is looking for a NAS solution. I run a completely DIY solution since I’m a knowledgeable Linux user. They’re not. I’m trying to figure out what’s available and what to recommend. Here’s what I have so far:...
I’m trying to be more mindful about my YouTube consumption, there are a lot of quality channels out there, but sticking to “subscriptions” is difficult when the YouTube app on my TV has so much distracting recommended content and shorts thrown at you, so I’d like to have a way to auto-download the content from specific...
I am using restic for backups. I would like to use a non-root user to backup my docker volumes. As the files in the volumes have very different access rights and groups, accessing them is difficult without root rights....
EDIT: It was a firewall issue. I disabled my firewall and it works....

I have Jellyfin installed on a remote machine, connected to my laptop and phone via Tailscale. Is it possible to cast from that machine to a gen 2 Chromecast?...
I’m looking for something like Heimdall, but a little bit more lightweight, hopefully something I can just throw into my www folder. Nothing requiring Docker. Just lightweight stuff.

So I’m on plex scanning my library to get new videos added and they show up briefly then quickly disappear. So I looked into logs and plex is spitting out a boat load of permission denied logs....
I’m giving it a try after failing to set something simple for a book collection (mostly epub). Interested in knowing other people take on this tool.
