This article is the third in a series of five articles dealing with the installation and configuration of VMs (Linux, Windows, macOS and BSD) in PCI Passthrough on Proxmox VE 8.
I’m running an old server at home, an IBM system x3400 m3, rocking two x5675 intel processors....
So I have a webserver running nginx, and I want to use it as a reverse proxy to access web applications running elsewhere. I know this is a pretty standard use case, and that the traditional approach is to use virtual hosts to proxy the different apps....
The more I am selfhosting the more ports I do open to my reverse proxy....
Hey guys, For my home server I am using a Cloudflare domain name to access it, but I noticed today that my connections are secured using the Google Trust Services LLC certs, rather than the Let’s Encrypt certs Nginx Proxy Manager uses… so I’m assuming that cloudflare is having a ball sniffing all my traffic before...
Any recommendations for a self hosted note taking app that runs on everything with a screen and is designed for multi device usage?...
Hi. I have been into self-hosting for about 2 years, now. My current setup is that I have a home server and a VPS. My ISP does not let me forward any ports (I am behind CGNAT, I think), so, I have connected my home server to a VPS via a WireGuard tunnel and am using Nginx Proxy Manager (NPM) to proxy the services hosted on my...
All the times I just put docker-compose.yml to one user (my user) directory and call it a day....
Hey all....
Hi all, I’m looking to upgrade my router from the default one that came from my ISP....

I used to rock a bare metal 1Tib HDD server for 17€/month, that I used as an NFS server for all my other servers which needed storage space....
Faulty peripheral power supply killed my server a little over a day ago....
I’m new to the selfhosted/homelab space and eyeing a used Dell Optiplex Micro system to experiment with. The unit has an i5-8500T and appears to support Intel vPro/AMT for remote management and KVM. This is interesting to me as I may not want to have a monitor and peripherals permanently connected. After substantial searching,...

Hello all! Just curious what y’alls typical setup is when it comes to running multiple stacks which require the same “support” containers....
Like many of us, I am trying to break free of depending on Google so much. I’ve made some progress in many areas thanks to this awesome community....
About three weeks ago, I started my own Lemmy instance. It’s been running great, but theres something that keeps pulling me back to my account on one of the large instances....
EDIT: So because of my $0 budget and the fact that my uptime is around 50% (PC, no additional servers) I ended up using NextDNS. For the time being it works (according to dnsleaktest), an added benefit was improved ad-blocking (100% in this tool). I now have plans for a proper router in the future with a Pi-hole. Thanks so much...
Hi there, I’m currently looking into renting a domain from cloudflare for convenient access to my hosted services from outside my home. It seems some of the cheapest options for the domain name I want to use are country TLDs (.uk, .us). Does this bind me to their laws in any way? can anyone come at me for hosting (e.g....
I’ve used wireguard for a pretty long time on my server and the phone as a client. I’ve had the same configuration for at least 4-5 years and never had issues. Last week I moved to using pihole in a container with a macvlan interface, so it has a different IP address than my physical server. Then I went and changed the DNS...
