I’ve been researching NAS and am figuring out how one can play into my current home setup. There’s a lot I don’t know even after researching. Best I explain to clear things up....
Is there an open source package that the Internet Archive runs? What is it? I assume sites like archive.is run the same. I’d like to know if I can also run it for self-hosted archiving.
I plan to selfhost nextcloud, for now just for bookmark sync. is there a point to installing a vpn on the computer running the instance? it shouldnt matter as long as i have https right? what about if i dont have a domain? i cant have https without a domain (ill buy one later just want everything to work first). or maybe use one...
Github has become more bloated, slower and more user-hostile with each update (just like all other big corp platforms). SPA navigation slow like hell, the “new” file viewer/browser is hardly usable in my opinion, code search does not work without login, etc. So are there any good alternative FE where the following work (read...
Basically I have a Navidrome container and it’s pointing at my music in a network mounted folder, what’s the best way to ensure that it’s always there, even after a reboot of my Pi?
We are thrilled to announce the release of Stalwart Mail Server 0.5.2, which brings two significant advancements: the integration of the ACME protocol for automatic TLS certificate deployment and support for the HAProxy Protocol. These features mark a substantial step forward in our commitment to enhancing the security and...
Heyas, wondering if there’s an open sourced piece of software or the like, that could scrape media platforms for a specific topic. Platforms like YT, X, Lemmy, News Media, etc., perhaps using RSS? But, a program I can host on my server, that only I have access too, via webpage, CLI, whatever…...
I have several TB of borg backups. Uploaded them on backblaze b2. I could immediately see how much resources i was using, how many api calls, and so on. Very easy to see and predict the next bill. I can see exactly which bucket uses more resource, and which is growing over time....
I’m going to be running a Jellyfin server, and I don’t want to maintain it a lot, I just want it to work. Would using Docker be the easier way to maintain Jellyfin, or would using Podman be better? (I don’t want to deal with SELinux, firewalls, port forwarding, etc.)
I’m giving it a try after failing to set something simple for a book collection (mostly epub). Interested in knowing other people take on this tool.
Hey, I recently saw a comment on where to buy server hardware (mainly hard drives) sadly I forgot about the URL and didn’t save it. What are you guys favourite places to buy these kind of things? :D...
After Google’s announcement to kill the domain registrar service, I would like to transfer my domain to another provider. I use Cloudflare for nameservers and their services, but they don’t support transferring my .in domain Do you have any suggestions on an honest provider, possibly in Europe?
For a couple of years, I have been serving Plex to a few friends and family from an NVIDIA Shield Pro on a gigabit fiber. Before that, I served from a Raspberry Pi....
I’ve done god only knows how many searches looking for a solution to this with no joy so any help you can offer would be great....
I’d love to find a selfhosted voice assistant to use on my phone, computer, etc. iOS compatibility is a plus. Does anyone know of anything out there that could fit the bill?
Has anyone noticed that oracle keeps changing the idle requirements for compute instances?...
Hi, I am looking for a SBC to self host stuff on. I would like it to be somewhat open hardware (manufacturer provides schematics and drivers are open source). Which is why I initially wanted to buy a banana-pi router but after reading a post in this /c/ I found that mainline linux support is fairly rare in these arm/riscv SBCs....
I’m running Docker on Ubuntu server; around 50 containers running, most admin via Portainer. Configuration files and small databases for container applications are stored on the local SSD, media and larger files are stored on a NAS....
I host some services and now start to slowly let family and friends use some of those services. for myself i have a dashboard (Heimdall, just because it worked nicely first try and I didn’t bother looking at others) and I want to also have one for other users. Now I imagine something like that:...
Hello....
Hello Friends,...
I’m having trouble deciding which software platform fits my hardware. This is not a standard “what’s the best” type of post, as ultimately they will all run containers so it’s more “I have this stuff, what would you do in my situation?”....
