There does not seem to exist like a single, complete solution for this that everyone agrees is the way to go… or maybe I did not look hard enough....

I’m curious as to why someone would need to do that short of having a bunch of users and a small office at home. Or maybe managing the family’s computers is easier that way?...

I’ve seen a lot of posts for a lot of different homepage for selfhosters: homepage, homer, homarr (which has an 700 MB image!)....
