An isolated friend of mine in Montreux, Switzerland, who is already in an incredibly rough situation, just had their Samsung phone break to pieces. It's their computer / writing tool / appointment scheduling tool / connection to the outside world. This is a major crisis, more than I can convey.
Are there charities in Switzerland or Europe that help people with replacement phones?
Are there charities that help recover data off old phones?
I want to be clear: I am helping a friend who is in a major crisis.

If you want to mansplain, scold, make jokes, "be ironic", or any other nonsense, just get in the sea. I do not have the strength or bandwidth for it while I'm deeply worried for a friend on the ledge.

If anyone reading this speaks French, could you look into libraries around Montreux (Switzerland) and see if you can find a program that can help people with broken phones / phone repair / phone data recovery / replacement phones? My friend now has basically no internet access to look it up themself.

The library will help with providing a link to those who can help, rather than direct help. That's what libraries do (among other things).
I would suggest that your friend contact the largest local library, as they are most likely to have specialist help staff with the knowledge your friend needs. @avirr@libraries@librarians
