To me, people not masking despite what informations are available about Covid 19 doesn't seem strange or unusual.
I'm not even surprised by most people ignoring, how many people still "have a cold" at the moment, despite it being summer.
What feels unusual to me is regularly seing people who act differently(even if it's just here on Mastodon).
A lot of my life was like that, people around me acted in a way, that if questioned, couldn't be defended rationally, but still wasn't changed.

The same goes for how people with Long Covid or ME/CFS are treated.
People become chronically ill and then they're suddenly surprised by how little society as a whole cares about them.
I know that we are told "people who actually need(/"deserve") help get help", but haven't you been paying attention to how homeless people for example are treated?
A lot of homeless people are mentally and/or physically ill and are in no position to improve their situation without help.
Do they get help?

I know how some people react to this, but I do think that one of the main influences here is "neurotype".
I don't think we'd suddenly live in a utopia without any problems, if the majority was autistic, but I'm sure, the general situation would be much better.
It's not "Autism Supremacy" to notice, which people are usually more health-, environmentally- and socially concious and what would be the consequence, if more people acted that way.

We definitely seem more aware and willingly to put ourselves out to think about others than is normal. But then, not having the, how will I benefit mind set of allistics and their constant need to maintain or improve their position within the social hierarchy, certainly helps.
